Product Description: B SERIES, EASILY TRANSFER YOUR MUSIC WITH THE DRAG AND DROP WALKMAN MP3 PLAYER WITH THREE LINE COLOUR DISPLAY, SIMPLY PLUG IT INTO YOUR PC TO GET STARTED
Manufacturer's Description: Sony Nav-U Buying Guide No cables, no software, no fuss: Great music sounds easy with WALKMAN NWD-B100 Series MP3 |
 | Small and Light
Weighing just 30g, the stylish NWD-B100 Series MP3 slips effortlessly into a pocket or bag and is packed with clever technology that takes the stress out of managing your music files.
| | Easy to use ‘drag and drop’ transfers via direct USB
Easy-to-use auto transfer software built into the NWD-B100 makes it incredibly simple to load up this WALKMAN with your favourite digital tunes. Attaching to your computer’s USB port (supports USB 2.0 high speed transfer) with no fiddly cables needed, the NWD-B100 will automatically search and copy across MP3 and WMA files in your PC’s ‘My Music’ folder (or your designated music folder).
The NWD-B100 also copes effortlessly if your PC’s hard drive contains too many tracks to fit onto your WALKMAN. The smart built-in software automatically transfers most recently added tracks from your PC, ensuring that WALKMAN is always up to date with your latest tunes. (Deleting older music files from NWDB100 may be required to make space available for new files transferred from PC).
For extra convenience, the WALKMAN will charge its battery through the USB port while connected to a PC.
| | Music to your Ears – But not just through your Headphones
If you’re relaxing at home, you can enjoy listening to all the tunes stored on your WALKMAN through the speakers of your Sony mini/micro hi-fi system. Files can be ‘streamed’ directly via a USB connection from the NWD-B100 Series to your hi-fi. (only music with the same codec as the Mini/Micro system can be streamed). NB: streaming function is supported by these Sony hi-fi systems: DHC-AZ33D Series (mini); CMT-U1BT; CMT-U1; CMT-DH5BT; CMT-HX9DAB (UK specific); CMT-HX5BT; CMT-HX3; CMT-BX7DAB (UK specific); CMT-BX3 (micro).
| | 3-line colour LCD display
Once you’ve loaded up your WALKMAN with your favourite music, you can easily search songs by File/Folder or Song/Album/Artist name using the bright, easy-toread 3-line colour LCD display. (note artist/albums original name is only displayed for music with ID3 tag information).
| | So How Many Tracks can it Store?
With a generous 1GB storage capacity, the NWD-B103/B103F can store up to 660 songs while the 2GB NWD-B105/105F boosts this to an incredible 999 songs. Just as you’d expect from any WALKMAN, MP3 playback quality is superbly crisp, clear and dynamic. There is also a 6-mode equaliser for finetuning your listening pleasure.

All NWD-B100 Series models also double as a handy voice recorder, letting you record personal notes and memos using the built in microphone without the need to scrabble for a pen and paper.

This my first MP3 player after falling asleep on my personal CD player and doing it no good at all. I expected the build and sound quality of a Sony to be first class and I wasn't disappointed although I did invest in some Phillips Superior Sound headphones to make the best of it. Like others, I found the capacity a bit disappointing at only 250 tracks and the shuffle doesn't shuffle as it should. Overall I'm delighted with both the player and Amazon's usual superb service.

For hardware design and build, this is fantastic. Major problem though: the random play setting doesn't seem to work. Whatever I do I get certain songs repeating at far more than a probable rate, it is incredibly annoying. I think I've tried all the options so looks like I'm going to request a refund. Currently using it as a portable storage / transfer device - not good.

Never owned an MP3 player before - really really pleased with this one, especially the sound quality. It does say that it can hold over 600 tracks but at the highest sound quality it is more in the 220 field.
One slight quibble is the fiddly nature of the fast forward and rewind button. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it needs a little pursuading but overall I am very pleased with it.

I have been an ipod person for the past 4 years. I am used to carrying all my music collection with me and have the ability to listen to any song I wish for.
Having recently lost my ipod, I was in the market for another mp3 player. Decided to go for this little thing as Amazon were selling it for £20 .
I have always been worried about having MP3 with just 1 GB capacity. But I am very happy with the player.
a) Good quality output
b) Love the fact that I can remove the cap and plug in straight to an USB and transfer music( hence I am not so fussed about the capacity). And it also gets charged when connected via USB.
c) Very light
The only little problem I have is that the rev/fwd buttons ... Read More:

This is a good little MP3 player. Good points include:
- Very quick charge time
- Decent battery life
-Same amount of hard drive space and price as iPod Shuffle, but you get more flexibility in how the songs are played back
-No annoying Sony Sonic syncing software
-Good sound quality
-Looks good.
There is only one bad point:
If you use Media player instead of simply dragging files to add music, the player can only play the album songs in alphabetical order. If you drag and drop them the player recognises the number prefix to the track name and thus plays them in the order they were intended by the artist.
I was initially really pleased to discover that the device was ... Read More:
