 Rating:  - Unbelievably brilliantI love the fighting, where you have to circle around your opponent, slash him, then roll underneath and hack him from the other side, then there's the groups of soldiers that you can steam into, spinning around and knocking loads of them over at once, it really is brilliant fun. I don't like the bosses however, it's all about finding where to stand when the boss is attacking and then going over for one slash, then hiding. Extremely repetative, but most of the fighting is very cool indeed. In fact I'm worrried about becoming addicted to Conan, it gives you a chance to be a bit creative about how you destroy your opponants, using a variety of weapons or throws, or even by throwing furniture at them and then doing a decapitation move while they ... I suspected it was going to be a turkey but I was pleasantly suprised. Don't get me wrong, this game isn't going to win any awards for innovation. It's a pretty simple affair, the gameplay mostly consisting of hacking your way through hordes of mooks, but it's just done so well. The combat system works very well and it's extremely satisfying when you manage to pull off one of the spectacularly gory finishing moves. The graphics are good (although nothing amazing) and the sound is evocative (but can get a bit repetetive). The Xbox360 Elite is a recent purchase of mine as there was nothing in the pipeline on the PS3 that really excited me, and lets face it, the software available for the 360 is massive and Conan is a must for any die hard, hack & slash, slice and dice lover.
