 Rating: - Not as good as the original game.I don't think the original Supreme Commander needs any introductions. Suffice to say that it's become by far and away my favourite RTS, beating Dawn of War, C&C 3 etc. I was really looking forwards to this add-on, particularly the new faction that it adds to the game. In this respect it really delivers - the Seraphim have some awsome units and the additions to the other factions are also great - the individuality of the different factions has been significantly enhanced. The mini-map and whole user interface have also received a much needed revamp. The in-game interface is now much more customisable, which is very useful as it allows the player to display exactly the information you need. My only criticism is that the ... I am probably missing the point as my internet connection at home is not working, and this is probably a lot of fun on line. However as a single player experience it's actually rather dull. Build your base collect resources, build an army, build sheilds, attack in force blah blah blah. Yawn Yawn. Defeat the occasional boss. I'm not even sure it's worth three stars. Rating:  - CrackingSome things in life don't change and an RTS is at home on a PC (a powerful one is handy I admit though). A PS3 with a mouse still isn't going to cut it. Forged Alliance is awesome. Better than Supreme Commander since we get all the toys available from the word go this time. But don't let me distract anyone from buying the first version and getting to grips with that as that too is a cracker. On the specs side of things, I've got a pretty evil machine so I can't really advice on minimum specs sorry. Rating: - FAThis expansion fixes nearly all the problems that the original supreme commander had. The new units really complement the old ones and factional diversity has been greatly expanded (before it was pretty much just experimental units). Online games are now fast and dynamic with a wide range of strategic options available (unlike most rts, where its not so much general strategy, but more about microing the units you have effectively). The scale of the game allows for a number of really sneaky tactics. For example, if you're being overwhelmed by the enemy attack force, but you can hold out for a few more minutes you might find he left his own base undefended and be able to blow up a large number of his production facilities forcing him to deal with ... Read More: Rating: - Good game but power demanding lame. Ok ill give this to you straight up. This is a nice game very good and hard as well. I dont like easy games. But the down side is that you would need a beast of a pc to play it. It says on the back about the recommended specs but that doesnt even cut it. Here's wat I am running: intel celeron 2.80ghz 1 gb ram 160gb hard drive 7800gs 256mb gfx card. (Going to have to oc it to play) That config strugles to play it. So thats why I rate this 4 stars. good game but power lame. |
