 Rating:  - Nice machine, but terrible quality controlI bought this laptop after seeing a friends in use for 3 months. My friend had no problems, but the one I bought (and its replacement) both had faults and were returned. Amazon's returns policey was very good and I obtained a refund without any hassle. The moral is, IF YOU BUY ONE - CHECK IT OUT THOROUGHLY; especially the functions that you don't use so often. Rating: - Remember that HD DVD is now a defunct formatJust to remind buyers that support for HD DVD is now being cancelled and no new films are being released using HD-DVD as Blu-ray has won the format wars- you will probably have to replace the drive if you want to continue to watch HD films on this laptop Rating:  - SuperbWow. Did not know a laptop could be this fast. I have bought this to replace my desktop and it is far superior. mind you having a touchpad instead of a mouse makes it difficult playing games so I had to buy a micro mouse. Rating:  - Great laptop - as long as your hard drive doesn't dieMuch has been said in other reviews of this laptops looks and features. It's all true - it looks good and runs well. I even like the keyboard - I don't believe to be cheap/spongy as mentioned in another review. Battery life is OK - but you'll get much less than the two hours mentioned in other reviews if you do anything more than look at the nice bright display. I typically get just over an hour in active use. I do have one niggle with the machine - and that is the rather noisy fan that kicks in as soon as you ask the machine to do anything other than idle. It's not too loud, but the constant starting and stopping of the fan does become quite irritating. (Contrast with the HP laptop I use for work which is silent all day.) Where ...
