I got these after having them reccomended to me by someone in the Apple store. They are bulky and the cable-wrapping-round-your-ear system drove me to distraction. The sound quality was incredibly poor - my old Sony Fontopias are far superior in every respect.

I found a display that allowed me to compare last years comlete line of Shure earphones and settled on these. The highest end model and this one had the best volume and response. I did find some of the other models didn't have the output I expected.
These are a huge improvement on the iPod standards, JVC and others I had tried. I was hesitant to go for high end earphones, but honestly, well worth twice the money.
All other earphones I used required me to make my own foam adapters to get a full sound. These work with the many included inserts.
The equalizer was useful as the high end output is quite high. The sound clarity is excellent. I am suddenly finding myself wanting to re-record many of my tracks ... Read More:

Having bought these I am sorely disappointed. I find them no better than the in ear pair I had that cost about £18
I wish I hadn't spent the £46. The improvement in sound quality is negligible and far outweighed by the fact that when I manage (after much messing about) to isolate outside noise I am left with every movement I make, when walking being transmitted through the wires to my ears. Thus meaning there is a constant background thump that is very very irritating.
I understand that this isn't peculiar to this model but all earphones of this type. How do they get away with it??
Its very fiddly to try and wear them as they suggest, over the ear, as its difficult to keep the phones in.

I bought a pair of Shure E2C headphones some months ago and unfortunately the cable broke. Something very unlikely, given the build and material quality. I phoned Shure distribution and they promptly replaced my headphones for the new SE110 (by the way, congratulations for the service!)
These new headphones are a major improvement: the sound is richer and they have better bass response, which was a general complain. The extension cable is something that works well and the sleeves, especially the soft ones, are very impressive. I tried these headphones in the underground, airplanes and other noisy environments and never needed to get the volume above 3/4. When compared to my B&O a8, the treble is not as bright and the bass is not as deep, ... Read More:

After reading reviews and hearing recommendations about these, I decided to splash out and pay a bit more for a new set of headphones when my last ones bit the dust.
I was expecting good things but was sorely disappointed when I did get them. Having tried all three ways of wearing them described in the instructions, I found the sound isolation pretty good. The disappointing thing with these is the sound quality. I found the bass response very poort and music on these sounded very much like it had high treble and low base (for the first time ever I have had to turn the base booster equaliser setting on on my iPod). Also I found that they didn't handle high volume too well and distorted the sound noticable. My old Sony Fontopia earphones were ... Read More:
