Seamaster's review is spot on. I too have had several FM transmitters and looked forward to the improved functionality on this one. However, the FM signal it emits is weak, meaning the RDS information doesn't work half the time and there is a constant hiss on the sound that I don't get with the transmitter I am about to go back to. I also have a good knowledge of the three "best" frequencies to tune to, yet despite repeated scanning, this item never found any of them. Its a disappointment and I sent mine back.

I was concerned by some of the negative reviews which this product received previously , but am glad that I bought one and tried it out. Having been quoted around £350 to have an iPod cable fitted to a new car as an extra, I thought I'd try this out for size first.
Setting the device up is simplicity itself: plug the charger in, connect the iPod (or iPhone in my case), press a button to scan for available frequencies and then tune your radio in to this.
I was pleased by the quality of sound which I was getting, but this may depend upon the quality of the audio equipment in your car. On the radio of a fairly basic 4-year-old Citroen C5, it sounds as good as anything which is being transmitted by the standard radio ... Read More:

What a waste of money. Poor sound quality, Inability to retain favored presets, need to rescan if unplugged, potentially dangerous as tempted to manipulate while driving , "RDS" Display did not work with my radio (not sure if this is an RDS issue but I can see the names of radio stations normally)
Conclusion: abandoned. Now just have to find the box and return the device.
The older simpler devices had excellent sound quality and simpler (safer) to use. You'd think they would improve especially sound and not take a step backwards

I have been using this product with a IPhone 3G in a Honda Civic in the Belfast area.
The unit looks smart, appears to be sturdy and the functionality is relatively easy to pick up. The auto scan is very quick, and the resulting radio reception is very good indeed. I did not have to tinker with this in any way as mentioned by a previous reviewer. However I have no way of telling if this is limited to the area in which I am using it.
When I first plugged it into my IPhone 3G, the IPhone told me that this device was not designed for the IPhone and asked me if I wanted to switch to aeroplane mode. I said No, and the device has worked perfectly ever since. I havent got promted with the message again.

What a great little device, it works perfectly in my Daewoo Matiz with my iPod Nano 3G. The sound quality is how I listen to it on my iPod. There is no reduction in sound quality and there is no interference. However as you know the iPod doesn't have the best sound quality anyway, but if you're quite happy with the iPod sound, this will suit you fine.
To change tracks you can use either the little iPod controls which are situated on the thing you plug in to your cigarette lighter, or you can just control it normally using your iPod. If your radio/cd player has RDS display (mine does), it shows which tracks are playing by displaying them on your radio/cdplayer. You can also control the level of sound just by using your radio/cd volume ... Read More:
