 Rating:  - DisappointmentOn the surface this is an improvement over the previous version[s], one noticeable difference is the length of the microphone attachment, making it easy to fit to a flip-faced helmet, where the mounting needs to be a little bit further back, so that the lid can be closed without obstruction. Attempting to connect various devices is where the major disappointments are. I could connect TomTom Rider V2 OR my iPhone 3G, one of them at a time only, and had to reset to factory settings the TomTom a few times in the process - otherwise I kept getting a message that the headset was not connected. When the iPhone was "successfully" connected, the microphone was next to useless - the other side couldn't hear me at all, while I could hear them loud ... Read More: Rating:  - Scala Q2 Headset - I like it!I have seen the other 2 reviews and I have to say I like the Q2 headset - it works well with the Tom Tom Rider V2 and I can hear the voice commands well at well over motorway speeds in my Shoei lid (but not so well in my Caberg)and to have my Ipod on a radio transmitter playing a bit of Chilli Peppers or whatever on a long motorway trip is a bonus. I ride a 1200 GS without earplugs and I do not use the intercom facility. Tom Tom Rider v2 is useful but it creates havoc with just about any phone I have used but who wants to take calls on a bike? Not me! Just clear sat nav instructions, speed camera warnings and some music to while away motorway tedium. If you have sat nav and like music when you are riding buy one. I had no problem with wind or road noise or clarity after a little adjusting of the microphone positons. Using the intercomm and a GPS (Tom Tom Rider V2) has so far been impossible. Yes I know it prioritses but the passenger headset drops off line.The Scala Q2 master logs on to the GPS but then drops the passengers headset connection. The system certainly does not cope with 4 separate blue tooth devices as quoted. Help line is a tedious online process. If you want more than an intercomm, don't buy it. |
