Scoobee iPod / MP3 player car audio cassette adaptor - white

First I'll say I bought this for playing MP3's in the car, and it works well enough, adn I'm happy with it. The sound is reasonable to good* for this kind of device. However, it doesn't work (mechanically) in my hi-fi cassette deck in the house. I think it's because it turns too stiffly, and the deck hasn't the welly to drive it. The result is that it stops playing before it even starts.

The cord-tidy mechanism is very useful, the reason I chose this model. I wanted the wires well out of the way of the air-bag, so that if it triggers the passenger doesn't get a face full of MP3 player moving at supersonic speed. And it works well, though it was a little tangled and stiff at first.
