Do not buy.
We previously had a Liteon DVD recorder with 80 gig hard drive and we only bought the Philips for the larger hard drive space and the USB port. I wish I had bought another Liteon now as this is the worst recorder I have ever bought. The menus are slow, divx files crash for no reason and the player shuts down and restarts randomly, brand new DVDs won't play properly and have to be remounted and when copying files from hdd to disc it randomly renames them. You can't edit out adverts, you only have the ability to hide them and you can't split a file and then rejoin it.
