. UNIVERSAL DOCKfrom: Apple Computer I bought this initially to use with my iPod [3rd Gen.] and it workes fine for synching and charging. The remote control gives very basic functionality when the dock & iPod are linked up to my Yamaha AV Surround amplifier. What the point of the non-functional 'Menu' button on the remote is for nobody seems to know. It does nothing. After recently getting an iPhone 3G, I can happily say that the dock works fine when connected via USB 2.0 on my PC which runs on Vista Home Premium. One point to note when attaching an iPhone 3G, use the iPod Touch adapter because the iPhone adapter which comes with this device is designed for the 1st generation, non 3G iPhone.
