They are superb for late night gaming as my I didn't want to wake my wife up. It's really surpising how much you miss out if you only have sound through the TV. I've been playing Call of Duty series and you really can hear the sound of footsteps around you especially on search/destroy etc. This makes discovering/eliminating your opponent much easier. The headphones are very comfortable for long periods of time and they take 2 AAA batteries. The headphones tend to eat through normal AAA batteries that you use once so I'd suggest having 4 or more rechargable batteries and rotating your charging so that you're never without a fully charged battery.
