This was the first manga i ever bought, im so happy to see it on Amazon. ^^
On with the review.
Good news unlike some novels, all of the stories are related.
The main story revolves around the feminine Yuen and the strong Emba, its a realistic portrayal of love and hardship. Like the blurb says it revolves around prehistoric Romeos.
There are humerous points in areas which stop the plot getting over bearing, and even with some happy moments a real sense of dread is felt after an incident where i was compelled to read on. From there i was almost crying because of the happy ending...
And waaay at the end i nearly cried laughing at one of the extras.
This manga holds the main story which i mentioned and an almost prelude, which shows the trials of the main characters parents too, there is also a cute extra involving Yuuens nephew, then the funny one, which yeah may not be that funny but after reading the whole thing in one sitting i had to laugh.
I would recommend this to anyone really, the art is id say great so that means usually good lol, and for those that arent too fond of the 'hard' scenes there is tasteful censoring. I am a hard yaoi fan myself, but i was not disappointed with this book at all.
Wild Rock is definitely a book that can be read again and again, and with the clean artstyle i can even say i improved my profile shots cause i oggled the way it was drawn.
I have bought a few more mangas since and yet nothing compares to Wild Rock.

Beautiful, just beautiful. Emba is just the most gorgeous seme of all time! The stories are touching, funny, joyous and wonderfully drawn. The love between the two main characters is clearly felt throughout the main story (and extra) of this manga. The second story is slightly tear-jerking, but it helps you to understand the main story a little.
The paper is good quality and the translation can not be faulted. For hardcore yaoi fans, you will not find anything too explicit, however, what this book delivers is some beautifully love-filled moments. A must for any yaoi and non-yaoi lover!

This was my first BL title and to be honest i was surprised. The art style is wonderful and the story is wonderfully written.
The feelings between the two really blossom and there isnt too much in the way of over explaination of their love.
i wont say too much about the story here, you'll have to find out for yourselves but it is worth it. I re-read this book like three time in the first two days and discovered lots of new things i hadnt noticed the first time around.
I liked the Child Rock short at the end and perhaps think the story of Emba and Yuuen's fathers is better than the actual title but i love both very much.
Overall a perfect book to start with as it had nothing too graphic but still satisfied the want of Boys Love.

The classic story of rival clans brought together by young love is probably as old as this mangas stone-age setting, but it's treated here with so much elegance that it feels totally fresh and original. The artwork is beautiful, and flows effortlessly along with the story.
There is an 18+ rating for this manga, but the love scenes are very sweet and done with a sensitivity and lightness of touch which prevents them from being too explicit. It even made me cry, which isn't easy, and it's one of the very few manga of any genre that I've immediately re-read.

I was somewhat unsure about buying Wild Rock. When it comes to Boy's Love I usually go for school boys, not cave men. I must say that I was VERY pleasantly surprised. The loin cloths only add to the appeal.
The scenes between Emba and Yuuen are terribly romantic. The artwork itself is extremely beautiful, some of the best I've seen, and at times it is truly breath-taking. It's a must-read based on that alone. The plot is gripping, I've found myself unable to put it down on more than one read through. One of my favourite aspects to this manga is the history between Selem and Yuni, and how subtly our manga-ka has portrayed it in the main story. It adds another dimension to an already incredible love story.
All in all, Wild Rock is a new favourite of mine. If anybody reading this is unsure of whether they want to buy it, just go ahead and do it! You won't be disappointed.
