Video Games : Yoshi's Story

- Good... For A Short While
Yoshi's Story is a game released for the Nintendo 64 in late 1998. It is a slight sequel towards the game Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island for the Super Nintendo. Although the game looks like it became a top seller, many websites and reviewers have given this game mediocre report!
The story mode of the game begins where the Yoshi's all lived in a peaceful harmony. Their magical tree called "The Super Happy Tree" had a supply of unlimited fruit and happiness, which gave joy for all the Yoshi's. However, Baby Bowser becomes jealous of this happiness and casts a spell to transform the entire island into a storybook. In addition, Baby Bowser steals the Super Happy Tree in an effort to ruin the Yoshis' happiness. Six eggs survived in the dismal environment and hatched. While confused, the Baby Yoshis were aware of the gloomy atmosphere and set out to retrieve the Super Happy Tree and restore happiness to the Yoshis
The Story Mode allows you to choose 1 of the 6 Yoshi's you can take on your quest, each Yoshi having different colours towards the way they look. In the game your goal is to travel through the storybook and complete all 6 pages inside the storybook. To complete a level in the storybook you must eat a grand total of 30 pieces of fruit. This is basically simple as there is fruit scattered all over the levels. Yoshi also has his hovering ability returned to the game and he can hover in the air for a short period of time to reach higher destinations. Ground Pounds also return as well which are helpful for defeating enemies and finding secret stuff. But ultimately the eggs make a return too. Without Yoshi's Egg's you won't be able to get very far so grab some Yoshi's Egg's and start tossing!
This game may sound very adventurous but in reality Yoshi's Story is a very short game and can probably get easily done in under a week. The only reason why I've only had the chance to finish it is because of my addiction on the XBox 360 before I got the Red Rings Of Death!
My Personal Game Score: 7.5/10: 7.5: Great, Entertaining, Challenging?
My Wish: Additional levels in the Story Book, a level save feature and improvements to the game to make it a little less childish!
Final Comments: It is more or less admitted that is game is aimed for children. Some websites such as www.gamespot.com believe that even toddlers and young children can finish this game in one single day! Overall, I gave it 7.5 because I thought it was a fair bit of short fun. If your after a adventure with a pack of Yoshi's without Mario interfering then I recommend trying out Yoshi's Story!

Yoshis story is a great game and reminds me of mario 64 but about 3 times better!
if you enjoy any of the mario games like donkey kong 64 then i suggest you buy this game as it is better than any other game of its kind like crash bandicoot or mario 64.

join yoshi and his multicoloured dragon friends on a wild adventure through a wide and varied variety of backdrops in increasing levels of difficulty. The music is the classic yoshi/nintendo style combo, which I warn you now WILL get stuck in your head for several days after putting down the pad.As soon as you put this adorable little number in its pride of place,yep...shoved in your probably crusty n64, I can garauntee it will not be removed for anything less than the likes of Link, Mario and possibly Banjo! I am sure that by now you are sick of me moaning on about how great this game is, so now all you have to do is grab a copy of this to see what the big fuss is about.Goodbye and happy gaming!!!
