Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - quake, an old game but still with its magical flow
wow, i havn't had such a sensation of gameplay since i played jomes bond golden eye!
The game features very good graphics, and still surprising even today, the gameplay although similar is just what some one needs to satisfy boredom. The enemys and some of the weapons are regenerated into quake 4, but it's great to see there original desighn!
The game is more complicated then doom 1-2, not only by its improved graphics, but it's small primary and secondary missions and objectives make it a fun game to play!
There are alsorts of physics like dynamic lighting, location damage on enemys and walls, and real impact that engages you more tham any other game made at that time.
It's fun and very satisfying...a real bargin for one of the worlds most famous vidoe games!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - It's Quake II, But Not What We Thought, It's Going To Be!
This is the Playstation 1 Version of the Quake II Series! Quake II is the sequel towards the adventures you've taken back on the Quake I game (Therefore, a Quake I game doesn't even exist for the Playstation 1).

I was just exploring at my local game store and then I found this Quake II game for as little as about £5, and I thought to myself, since I already owned the PC and the Nintendo 64 Versions, I decided to give it a try, so I bought it. It turned out for the fact that this version of Quake II has graphics which are a bit lighter, poorer and blurry, and the sound effects are highly pitched as well, meaning that when you kill a guard, they will scream instead of shout!

The story is basically the same as the PC and the Nintendo 64 Version! After you defeated the final boss in Quake I, an alien race codenamed the Stroggo's attempt to conquer and control planet earth, by invading and wiping out the human environment! Some of the human races have even decided to cooperate with the Stroggo's, and are getting supplied with Arm Mounted Pistol Guns and Shields. However, many of the human life forces have made the decision to attack the Stroggo's whether they are human or not. You and you're crew then make the ultimate decision to take flight into orbit and head on towards the Strogg's own planet! You are immediately launched in your little cockpit ready to take fire, until you are then attacked by the Strogg's Airborne Marines and then you suddenly crash land on the Strogg's Home Planet. You're missions are changed and now you have three Priorities. Infiltrate, Conquer, Survive!

It is up to you in this wild adventure to help this Marine use weapons, gadgets, codes and... um... weapons to take out these Strogg's once and for all! With weapons like the Super Shotgun, the Chaingun, the Railgun and the deadly BFG10K! This marine will hopefully be still on two feet when he has done his duties!

The Playstation 1 Version of Quake II also has some slight differences compared to the PC and the Nintendo 64 Versions! For instance, in the first level of play, you are actually in the level, which you also first do on the Nintendo 64 Version, and then when you pass that, you are in the first level on the PC Version! Most of the levels and enemies are based upon the PC Version and the Nintendo 64 Version's of Quake II, but the Playstation 1 Version's may differ, as there are known to be new levels such as the Gravity Booster and new enemies such as the Arachnid!!

My Personal Game Score: 6.5/10: Playable, Alright, Up's & Downs

My Wish: The PC Version and the Nintendo 64 Version's of Quake II are fairly graphical, and reasonable to play. My solely wish, of course, is for the fact that the Playstation 1 Version of Quake II had graphic quality the same towards the PC and the Nintendo 64 Version! Plus the matter of fact, maybe if Quake II was released out for the Playstation 2, it could have got a better score rating!

Final Comment: Overall, I give credit to the companies for having a attempt at making Quake II for the Playstation 1, but i will still say that if you are looking for another Quake II game to fiddle about with, or you just want to try out some different levels that you could customize yourself, then you can give this version a try. But as far as I'm concerned, since I've finished this Playstation 1 Version I have now placed it aside and I am now going to proceed with the PC and the Nintendo 64 Version!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - the best
quake 2 is a first-person shooter that rules. the graphics are exellent, but i think the vilonce is a little bit out of hand, but thats still makes the game good. you get loads of weapons; the blaster, shotgun, super shotgun, rocket launcher, bfg, grenades, grenade launcher, chaingun, machine gun. the story is that you have crash-landed on an alien base. you and your team have been trying to destroy this base from the air. a recent marine had crash landed just like you, but had died. now, it's all up to you to destroy the base from the inside.the aliens are marines like you, or there giants with chainguns for arms, or robots and dogs that drain your energy. the aliens are coming to earth. you have to stop them...by buying this game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - frag alien hoards in a superb shooting game
many of you may have played the demo and thought, nothing special about this. but those of you who go out there and buy the game will know how excellent the game really is. the best part of the game has to be sneaking up on unsuspecting enemys and shooting them with a shotgun .with 10 weapons including the hyper-blaster and rocket launcher, you really can whip some alien ass.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Will leave you Quaking in your boots!
A superb transfer from a P.C. game with terrible graphics to a gloryfied gore fest! While not having the best AI in the gaming world this does not matter as it does not focus on stealth, and instead, supplying bucketloads of blood and lots of guns! Multyplay is limited on it's arenas (unlike Goldeneye!)But if you are looking for an all out frag fest which contains exiting and tough combat then this is the game for you!
