Soul Calibur is THE best fighting game on one of the very best consoles in the world.I have not yet seen better graphics on any platform. It has a fantastic learning curve so pros and beginners can enjoy the challenge of completing the game. One of the most enjoyable games ive ever played.

i ve come across alot of fighting games, but when i came across this game it took my breath away. the gameplay is very fast and fluid. with many different options to choose from and the added extra of 12 hidden characters it is nothing short of genius. tekken doesnt even come close!

This is the best fighting game I have EVER played and is miles better than Tekken Tag Tournament. The graphics are some of the best you will ever see even after 2 years and I still play it to this day. There is so much to do and unlock in this game and it plays like a dream. Highly recommended!

- A new twist on the fighting genre
Originaly, I was looking for a fighting game which had excitement, amazing graphics and plenty of moves to learn and master. If you are looking for the same thing, you aren't gonna go wrong here. Soulcaliber is one of the best games I have ever played on the Dreamcast (which probably isn't too hard). It combines the classic beat'em up style game with an ancient theme and with weapons e.g. swords, axes, staffs, daggers, and nunchucks. that's something I've never seen in a game before. Some of the moves are quite difficult to pull off and the last few battles can be fustratingly difficult, but other than that, there really is nothing wrong with the game. There are plenty of modes to chose from including story, team battle, time attack, survival, extra survival, 2 player versus and training. There are also loads of characters to battle it out with. overall, SoulCaliber is a very good game with a long lifespan and lots of options. One thing really confused me was why it has a 15 certificate. There isn't even a drop of blood. Oh well, Enjoy.

Namco, the creators of this game, have managed to make one of the greatest beat 'em-ups and possibly one of the best games ever in Soul Calibur. There are so many modes in the game that will keep any keen gamer going for a while. There are nineteen playable characters altogether and it will take some time to access them all. Mission mode is when you pick a character and you fight your way through several missions to gain special features to the game, improving your enjoyment. Survival mode in my opinion is the most addictive. Again, you choose a character, but this time you have to defeat as many opponents as possible in a row, while keeping a watchful eye on your energy. Apart from the main modes of the game, all the accessible features can be quite fun as well. To name a few, there are martial art demonstrations by your characters and also you can view character profiles. Beat em-ups are usually short-lived games and can be completed easily, but as there is so much to do in this game, expect to be playing it for a while. I would recommend this game to all gamers and is a definite must-have title for the Dreamcast.
