Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Mad Catz Pad!
Along with the xbox pad (which also has A,B,X&Y) this is the best controller ever! The buttons are easy to reach and the analogue stick is rubber so it is easy to grip to! It also has 2 vm slots and 2 extra buttons Z&C above Y. Theese can be useful in fighting games plus if you have an emulator the pad now has the same amount of buttons as the PS2 controller (apart from select) so you can plat vice city on your DC! Although, my official rumble pack doesn't fit it one of the slots which means i'm going to have to buy the madcatz dream force pack. Also the programme button is confusing and disables the controller if you pess it. Anyway it is wider and more comfy than the original plus it has 2 rubber grips for extra comfort. If you own a DC buy it! any colour.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - dream pad review
This is the first joypad i have bought for the dreamcast other than the official version made by sega. I wasnt sure what to expect but as soon as i held it i thought beauty! this is ALOT more comfortable than the version made by sega and alot larger. I found the rubber grips really comfortable but the analogue stick is a bit too loose for my liking also the new buttons are a bit too close to the old ones so you end pressing B thinking that its A. I also found the D-pad unaccurate aswell since it is based on a circular design and not exactly first class , although it it certainly isnt terrible by any means. The trigger buttons are fine but then u could hardly make a screwup of them. over all this is well worth the price if you are looking for another pad this is a fine but not great choice

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Madctz Dreampad
I have tried quite a few different controllers for my dreamcast after finding the official ones too small and extremely uncomfortable to hold. The one that stand out above all the rest is, without doubt, the Madcatz Dreampad. It has a bigger, chunkier feel, with rounded hand grips which make it the most comfortable controller around. If you play games for long periods of time, you'll find the dreampad doesn't make your hands ache as much as others. The hand grips also have rubber pads which give you with a better grip if you're prone to sweaty palms during frantic gaming bouts. Another good little innovation is a rubber pad on the top of the analogue stick. I've not come across another controller with this feature and it puts an end to that annoying problem of your thumb slipping off the stick at the most crucial moments. It also has two extra buttons above the usual diamond of four. These correspond to the L and R triggers and really only come into play with beat 'em ups. This makes playing this type of game much easier, but it is also here where the controller's only real design fault lies. The controller has programmable buttons, you press the program button and reassign the function of the button, its simple, a little too simple. The problem is that the program button is right below the A and B buttons and it's all too easy to hit this during a mad button bashing battle. You do get used to it, and learn to avoid hitting it, and if you are a big fan of beat 'em ups you'll have an arcade stick anyway, so this won't matter too much. But if the program button had just been move to above the start button, this controller would have been almost perfect. My only other minor criticisms of this pad would be the digital pad is a moulded circle and is rather inaccurate especially when playing a game where you need to uses the digital pad to navigate a menu or name entry screen. The analogue stick is slightly looser than the official pad and the triggers do have a tendency to break a little too easily especially when playing Crazy Taxi. These might sound like major problems but once you get one of these pads in your hands you won't care, and you'll get used to the way it works and you'll never go back to the official pads. This controller isn't perfect, but if the most important thing for you is a controller you can comfortably hold for hours, then this is definitely the one to get.
