Video Games : Sony Official PlayStation 2 DualShock 2 Controller (PS2)

- My 3rd one but read on;
This one i bought should be my 3rd official sony PS2 dual shock 2 controller. I had the first one which came with the PS2 whick broke in the first six months of having it. Then i bought my second one which lasted me until now. Im buying my third one as i need a second player and i think NO other PS2 controller works as good and easy as the official one. I also think that sony deliberatley made the bundled controller cheap so you can buy more!!! I have been through 3 un-official controllers. Two of them broke, the buttons got packed in early. the third on is MIA but it works good.
The best idea i reckon compared to the dual shock 1 controller are the following:
-Pressure sensetive buttons
-Longer lasting analouge sticks
-Thinner cable
-Longer cable (only by about 1ft)
-More stroger plugs for people who like to tug on the cable
-Plug looks more sleek
-Alot lighter then the dual shock 1
-Better rumble to feel the trigger moments...

This is definetly the best colour playstation out of the 3 if you were going to buy a new playstation buy this one. The controller is amazing aswell as the stand memory card. They all match. A MUST FOR EVERY BOY!!!!!

After being an N64 player, I was suprised at how comfortable the PS2 controller was. All the buttons seem easy to reach and it fits comfortably in your hands. However after a while problems strted to arise. I mainly play racing games and for acceleration and braking you have to really press the buttons hard and it seems a bit pointless when you can use the analogue sticks. However the sticks seem to be a bit of an after thought and I found after a peiod of playing my hands ached due to having to contort my thumbs to operate the sticks. I bought a cheap controller for Dixons with longer hand grips and the problems solved but the sticks aren't quite as sensitive as the Official controller.
Anyway it's a great controller if you don't want to use the analogue sticks or if you have small hands.
Rating: - Sony should include Two Controller with The Console
I have always been in love with the Sony controllers back in the early days of PSONE ,I always found it comfortable and intelligent piece of technology ,When the Dual shock got released with the late versions of PSONE I never thought to upgrade and I have decided to stuck with my old controller ,But I was a bit wrong ,That's what I have discovered when I bought my PS2 the last year ,I was amazed by the Dual shock Controller 2 .
This controller is undoubtly is a value added for any PS2 Console ,I was thrilled by the interactive shocks and vibration it offers with so many games ,And I always thought to myself that the PS2 experience wouldn't be completed without it ,With more and more advanced games to emerge and even some games with digital sound technology like Dolby Digital and THX Certified it became a must for the gamers ,The two square sticks in the middle of it is comfortable to use and I even use them for directing my character in various games .
I have only Two objection on this Controller ,It's not covered by the Console's Guarantee (That's here in my Country ,I don't know about other countries) so when it's facing a problem or something or stopped working you have nothing but to buy a new one ,The other thing is that Sony doesn't include two controllers but only includes one ,That's of course profitable for them but I thought it would be cool to provide a console with two controllers instead of one ,To let the gamers enjoy the thrills of modern day games and multi users experience without the need to buy another (somewhat) costly one ,Well we will also have to wait and see what Sony is going do with the next generation of Controllers when it releases PS3 ,Surely it would be a technically marvelous ,but in the meantime let's enjoy this generation and play till we drop un conscious!!

I disagree with those stating that this controller breaks easliy. I've played PS2 games forever with my dual-shock and dropped, kicked and bruised it. It has never broken down. Granted, the shoulder bouttons can get stuck, but all hardware objects are imperfect.
Get the real one from Sony I say, at least you get quality.
