- Not just pretty faces
I'm a hardened, dyed-in-the-wool classical music lover. I have hundreds of classical cds and maybe one shelf of what you'd call pop.
This cd, as has been said, is not classical. Oh sure, the tunes are familiar, but there's a disco beat to them and they've been heavily arranged. When I first saw this group, I did wonder if they were following the lamentable modern trend of looks over talent.
But you know what? I actually really enjoyed it. These ladies can play. Very well, in fact. It's perfect if you like classical, but are in the mood for something a little wilder, or maybe if you are not at all into classical but want to dip your toe in the water.
In short, this was the first Bond album I bought. I now own three.

I bought this with very high expectations, having seen them on Classic FMTV I was impressed with these performances.
I was very disappointed with the overall content of the disc and even less so with the music itself. I would have to agree with another review that this cd has been brough together with a big budget and little in music quality.

- Finally a way for plebs like myself to enjoy classical music
I typically don't have the stomach to listen to classical music, though I do enjoy the tunes, I often find them interspersed with dozens of minutes of near silence, maybe I've just listened to the wrong songs. Anyway, Bond has turned some fantastic melodies into amazing songs with a very dancey feel which I could listen to as dance tracks but also appreciate that I am listening to superior music than can be found in most modern dance tracks.
There is very little filler on this album, I do tend to skip past "Hymn" but everything else is pure gold. I adore "Winter" and "Victory" but my favourite is "Alexander the Great", it is fast paced, with a russian feel and I just want to play air violin every time I hear it. All the other songs definitely have merits of course.
I am glad that more classical music, some of the best music ever written, is being made more accessible to the masses and I hope this trend continues. Other places to look for this type of music is on the soundtracks to several "dance games" in the arcade. Try "Beethoven Virus" off Pump it Up or "End of the Century" off Dance dance Revolution. Or of course Vanessa-Mae's music.
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this album to anyone who isn't likely to say "They've bastardised the classics, what what.. *points nose in the air*." And I can't wait for more of the same.

This is an album which, to be honest has so much potential, it is just a shame it hasn't fulfilled it. The "lovely" girls have skills which are unquestionable, and have made some great classics into fabulous modernised versions, albeit a small problem or two. Annoying synthesised drumming and strange record scratching in the background spoils what is otherwise an excellent album.

wow!!! where do i start??? these four ladies are some of the most talented i have ever heard! their mix of clasical/instrumental is to say the least, out of this time period! its like nothing you have ever heard!!! they blow my mind everytime i listen to them!! this cd is a MUST HAVE!!! you cant pass this up!!!
