Video Games : Super Smash Bros Melee

Rating: - oh yeah baby!
This is the most extreme fun u can have with four mates!
The N64 version wasn't even a test run compared to this beast of a game! The game itself is huge and there are more unlockables than there is game to start with!
Graphics, sound, skills, the nostalgic feeling of watching samus and the ice climbers fight, its all here!
The only nag i have is that some of the unlockable charecters are simply 'deluxe' versions of existing charecters. i.e the same moves but faster or jumps higher etc which can be a bit dissapointing but that still leaves 19 very different charecters to smack about! Ignore the fact that mario and pikachu are kid characters! (theres always link or C.falcon)
This game screams 'buy me!!!'

Rating: - Super Smash Bros. strikes back :-)
I bought this game for Gamecube having been a fan of the N64 version. Super Smash Bros. Melee is very much the same to its prequel in terms of gameplay, but there are a lot of new features, including sideways scrolling mario-style levels in the single player. There are 11 characters to be earned in addition to the original 14, which makes the game much more long lasting, and everyone seems to have a favourite!. There are much better graphics and slightly more moves from the original, and the easy to learn/hard to master unique moves for each character make the game very enjoyable. There is a scenario mode such as fighting all the mario characters, as well as a lottery from which can get you trophies, and a game where the object is to punch a sandbag the maximum distance (good fun!). However, the single player is not as fun as the 2-4 player multiplayer game with its many interactive levels. Perhaps the only downfall of the game is that you need a memory card to save any characters/times etc.

Rating: - Greatest fighting game ever created!
The best thing about the game is to play it against you friends. With a lot of different modes and 25 character to play in 30 levels this game does not get boring for some time. The single player mode you can play classic, adventure break the targest, event or all-star mode. To play with you favorite nintendo characters can't be more fun.

Rating: - average fighter
this game is good in multi-player but poor in single player. In single player-tasks and levels soon become repetitive and dull. With your mates though, this game is a pretty good laugh. Good graphics, no slow down at all. The action is a bit mad looking at first but you soon pick up the pace of the game.

Rating: - Super Smashing Fun
Don't believe the age rating given here, the box actually says 11+.
However, it is a fun, addictive game with many games within it. Who wouldn't warm to the chance to pit Fox McCloud against Princess Peach or Mario against Zelda (and Kirby Pokemon is suprisingly fun to play with).
I (believing the rating listed here) bought a copy for my sons age 4 and 7. Both play it whenever possible and we have even had family tournaments to see who can best kick butt.
I'd recommend it to anyone, even if you aren't into traditional beat 'em ups. From personal experience though, I would caution it for younger children , especially if they are prone to fighting anyway (ow!).
There's loads in the game and the secret characters and venues to unlock seem to come along just frequently enough to give a reasonably young gamer a sense of achievement.
Now, all we have to work out is how to get to Sonic...
