It may be boring after a while but it is really fun.1-4 players is COOLyou can batter the hell out of your freind.

SSBM is a beat'um up game with a difference. Normal beatum ups have 2 characters that fill up most of the screen punching and kicking each other, In super smash bros melee, you can have 4 famous nintendo characters do battle in a variety of different nintendo locations. You can have a 4-way fight between Samus Aran, Princess Zelda, Pikachu and Captain Falcon. Or you could gang up on bowser using Princess Peach, Mario and Luigi. There are a number of different locations to fight in, like Peaches castle as featured on mario kart and super mario 64, Or Big blue, as featured in the F-zero games, or even Pokemon stadium.
All the characters and stages make this a nintendo fans dream, and a pretty good game!.
There are many different single player modes, such as 'Adventure mode' where You go through different 2D stages like the mushroom kingdom and stomp on goombas, and the ice mountain from the classic retro game featuring the ice climbers.
Theres also the classic mode where you fight a number of battles 1 after the other. There are also a few mini games in this mode.
There is also a secret mode which i wont tell you about. But if you have ever played the secret mode from the SNES game- Kirbys fun Pack, then youll be pleasntly suprised.
On top of all this is a trophy mode. With almost 300 trophys to collect, this should last you a long time. There are different ways to get trophys, the easiest being the lottery, where by you put in a coin, and youll get a trophy, the chance of you getting a new trophy decreases as you get more trophys. It starts at 99.9% and slowly goes down to 20% and 1%.
All of your best moments will be recorded aswell, if you get 100 trophys,it will record the time and date from when it happened.
There is also a sort of mission mode where you are given 50 scenarios and you must complete them to unlock others.
This game can also be a little Nintendo history museum with all the trophys showing nintendos finest characters and games. There is a little bit of everything in this game, like the karts from Mario kart, the metroids, different abilitys of kirby, even the mario golf courses are in the background of the first level of the adventure mode.
In an nutshell, this is an absolute must buy for all GC owners.

Thank the most awsome games company for the most amazing game on any console. This game defies the phrase 'beat 'em up'. This action packed fun fest is so visually stunning, and at the same time, so smoothly running. With or without friends, this game will last you for ages, as you unlock characters, arenas and trophies (the latter being a very tough challenge). An amazing and underrated game.

This is the best multiplayer game ever.There is loads to do and you will never get bored.The only problem with the game is that it's got Peach and Captain Falcon in it.But many great characters such as Fox,Link and Kirby.Basically it's a fighting game with a difference.My advice is BUY IT.

Smash Brothers was on the N64, now its faster, has more extras and more fun.
Graphics
A bit jaggy sometimes, there is an option to switch on full anti-alliasing and this does help. No slowdown (unless you actually want it) and practically un-fault able.
Sound
Mono or stereo, with Nintendo tunes from practically every game that Nintendo has made themselves.
Gameplay
This is essentially a fighting game, but it isn't, but its good. This game has nearly as many options as TimeSplitters2 so there's always something to fiddle with. There's even a how to play video in case your illiterate and can't read the instruction manual.
Replay value
You wont grow tired of this, there's always something to do and the multiplayer never gets old.
Overall
This should be a 10, so where's it fall down? You will eventually complete it, and by then you've simply had enough of it. A bit difficult for the older gamers (like your mom and dad) due to the amount of moves.
