- dont get a ps2 or gamecube
Althoough the xbox is not the most popular on the current market it has the most powerful proccesser and a 5 gigabyte hard drive to make up. I have had an xbox for one year now and i have never been dissapointed by anything the xbox has offered, i havent even got halo the best game on xbox because i am to young. Before i had an xbox i had a ps1 which shorted after three years, a testament to the shoddy building quality of the playstation series. Although the gamecube is more powerful than the ps2 it has mainly childrens games. so if you want a mature gaming console with lots of extra features........GET AN XBOX!!!!!

Okay my thoughts behind buying this was quite simple. I own and use apple computers, they suit my needs for the work I do. However they don't have the best range of games, although more and more titles are comming out, pound for pound they are more expensive than pc games.
I orginally bought a PS2, this was very good, although games take a while to start, due to reading of the disc all the time. I have sold this and went without a games console for a few months.
I then bought the XBOX, my first impression was good, it felt very heavy, and well made. The setting up was very easy, and the games were easly avaible.
I would recommend buying the games from Amazon, as they are a lot cheaper than pc world.
One thing I have had experienced is the game slowing when a lot is going on, this surprised me as I thought it should all be fine. This did happen very briefly, and whilst a lot of action was going on.
The Best thing though, which make the XBOX the King of all systems, is the XBOX live system. If you have a broadband line for your PC or MAC! then with a cable router, you can spilt the line and plug and go!
The setting up only took a couple of minutes, once on-line you can play against other people from all oer the world. What makes it better is the voice ability. I have played Tom Clancey Ghost Recon - Island thunder, on-line in teams from America, France, etc. All of which can be talked to Live whilst playing, very useful when giving or recieving orders.
Remember you don't need a memory card, the games are saved on the units hard drive.
Oh the other cool thing about the XBOX is you can link other XBOXS in the same house using the Ethernet cable, so you can play against your friends, on diferent TV's, much better than split screen action.

It's the size of my music centre. It and everything about it is expensive and there are few games available and many smaller dealers (ie individual shops, market stalls) deal only in GC and PS2. Its bulky, ergonomically the controllers are very poorly designed and the build quality leaves something to be desired.

*The spec is high (although few of the games meet it)
*It has a DVD player (although I would recommend neither the PS2
or XBox)
*Some of the games are quite good.
On the -
*It's huge
*Few games available
*It's expensive
*Controllers are a nightmare
*PS2 and GC offer much better alternatives
*Smaller dealers often don't deal in XBox software.
Not the best console ever released. The gameplay on the whole on my SNES, NES and Amstrad are Head and shoulders above the XBox

The Xbox is better than I first thought. I thought it was a load of rubish but then I was bought one. I must say it is really good. okay it's big and heavy thats the only down side. The controller are big but after a while you can get used to them. The graphics are great and the games are great. Okay I still have a playstation 2, so which is better? Xbox or ps2 well they are nearly the same the graphic are just as good as each other the xbox is a little bit faster, the ps2 controllers are moe comfortalbe and the ps2 is smaller and not as heavy as the xbox. The ps2 if the most popular console. So I think the ps2 is a litter bit better because its smaller and not heavy, but as far as games game play and graphic and the ps2 controllers are better to use other than that they are both the same.

Well my mates got one of theys mines coming sumtime this week. but i think they are 100% better then the ps1 and 50% better then the ps2. only thig is.. there abit boring looking.. the ps2 has the looks! the ps1.. well has nothing.. if your not bothered about looks and are after one heck of a gaming console then get one of theys babys! u will be hooked! i reccomend getting gta vice city. its out soon! and tony hawrks pro sk8er 4. also most the car games are COOL on this!
