Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - wicked game
Halo is a wicked game. You just have to buy it. When the 2nd one comes out that is also a must buy. But you just have to complete the first one first. Although this is one of the oldest x box games it is also one of the best. If I had to choose the best game on x box it would be Halo. It is just the ultimate game with loads of things to do. I love it. And when you buy it youll love it just as much as i did.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - one of the best single player exsperiance in a fps game
I got this game in summer 2002. This game is still as good as it used to be today.

features

2player with game modes like deathmatch, team deathmatch, all vehicles, snipers, king of the hill, rockets, rally, oddball (hold a skull for as long as you can), phantoms and some others.

co up mode (2 players on single player)

system lynk

Human Weapons pistol with scope shotgun sniper rifle rocketlauncher with scope Ausalt rifle(machine gun)

alian weapons plasma pistal needleler( you shoot pink lasers and they foolow(home)opponents then stick on them then they exsplode,

edit mode This is where you can edit your multiplayer options + control options. This is a feature that x111 doesn't have(another fantastic fps)

talking about first 2 levals

Halo is a first person shooter that should take your breath away. You are a cyborg who is out to save the world. You are the only real hope for survival because you are the ultimate weapon by having recharble batteries on your battle suit. on the first leval you wake up in something that is seethrough (a coffin shaped thing). You are training on a battle ship and you hear a thud. you look up in a window ahd these eletes(ALIENS) have kiked a door down. The 2 or 3 alians kill a marine. You have to escape of the ship in an escape pod whilst saving the remaining marines. This is an ausome adventure.

when your in pod whilst escaping you land on the earth halo (second levle). Theres a big impact when you land. It kills your marines in your pod. You go out of your pod and look for any survivors. There are more surprises along the way so I won't spoil them for you.

good points about game

great controls, best multiplayer in a game with system lynk. Use tanks, wart hogs(buggie car, 3 seater with chain gun at back), flying banshee, marine give you help along the way, amazing graphics.

bad points

on single player mode levals levals look repetetive(most games have this problem), on co up when you go away from your other player you tele port back to them, in short you both have to stick together.

thats it. All I can say is this game is close to perfection(no game is perfect).

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Breathtaking
Almost two years on and Bungies ‘Halo’ is still the most intriguing reason for owning Microsoft’s Xbox. From the opening menu screen with its ‘flythrough’ of the ring world and the haunting musical score, you just know that this is something special. Something very special indeed.

You play as Master Chief, a cyborg “super soldier” awoken from a cryogenic sleep by Captain Keyes to help defend against a Covenant - a group of aliens whose religion deems humanity an affront and that earth must be destroyed - attack aimed at your ship the ‘Pillar of Autumn’. The resultant battle leads to Master Chief and the survivors jettisoning the ship and landing upon the eponymous relic construction, from where you lead a guerrilla style counter attack against the far superior Covenant forces, where you discover the terrible truth behind the construction of Halo.

Halo ushered in the new era of the Xbox by revolutionising the FPS genre. It relies upon the enemies AI to provide you with a challenge, not by throwing an incessant wave of respawning dumb enemies – the Flood, not withstanding – at you. There is a definite hierarchy to your enemies and by killing a superior Elite, the lesser grunts will often lose their bottle and try to flee from the fight making them easier to deal with. By equipping Master Chief with a rechargeable shield that must be depleted before you can be killed, Bungie has also introduced an element of strategy, so that you must use the scenery as a respite from the attacks to allow the shield to recharge. It also only lets you hold two weapons at any one time, which means there needs a lot of thought into which combination of weapons you choose. The weapons are also balanced and well conceived; there is no super weapon that makes you all powerful, a la Doom and Quake. Another great addition to the gameplay is in assigning grenades to the left trigger, which means that they can be used to flush enemies out from their cover.

Level design is superb, providing vast expanses and claustrophobic interiors in which the games intense battles take place. The graphics are superb throughout, with impressively large alien architecture full of small details and stunning views, particularly highlighted when you commandeer a Covenant Banshee and soar high above the battlefields. All of which a complimented with a sympathetic soundtrack, using a haunting strings and chanting combination for its main theme, plus a guitar motif for a more aggressive, cinematic feel.

The true success of Halo is in the atmosphere that it generates of being a small part in the middle of a much bigger war. You often find yourself with a small group of marines having to fend of large group of Covenant soldiers armed with superior weapons and vehicles, with explosions and screams all about you. So crank the difficulty setting up to Legendary where the enemies AI alongside some inspired level design provides a stern test to even the most ardent gamer. Simply put, if you own an Xbox, then you must own a copy of Halo.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best shooter ever!
Halo is the best game i have ever played because of the huge levels. a good thing about halo is that it is somthing for us xbox owners to brag about. every one says that ps2 is better than xbox but even them like halo. this is because it is the best shooter ever and its graphics will beat almost any game. when you buy this you will be VERY happy.
