- Cheap and tacky feel
It needs to be heavier and more chuncky I resent paying for this and when it arives finding its constructed to a real budget.

I was a little irked to be forced into buying an additional item for my xbox to "unlock" its functionality. The facility was always there, seemingly they just want some more cash. The remote itself is cheap feeling. It's lightweight, is vacuously roomy inside, and the buttons don't have that great, responsive feel to them. Not only that, but the battery cover design/placement is terribly located at the top of the unit. It doesn't really plug in well, and noticeably shifts around under the hand. What's even more naff, is the infra-red diode at the front. This thing is recessed into the casing a little, so there's some hope. Why on earth they have couldn't spent a few more pennies and covered that whole front-end with some shiny black plastic, just like that found on the Xbox itself, is beyond me!
No power button as people have said - but maybe with the Xbox Linux project, they can develop that functionality with multiple taps of the buttons.
The DVD dongle that fits into the front of the Xbox is simply ugly. I joke not. It's not flush with the machine, it protrudes by a few centimetres at least.
On the up side, the menus on the Xbox itself are pretty cool, and all the text uses that Xbox style.
Anyway, the short answer - no DVD player ? It's worth the spend.

It's a pain to shell out for this remote conrol so you can watch movies. But still, once it's bought you won't mind. The IR port which attaches to the console looks cool although the actual remote is a bit ugly. The controls are functional and do their job with no problems, except for the zoom which is too powerful - if you just want to make the picture a little bigger then sorry, that's tough.
DVDs play back with no problems whatsoever, and look very good, except bizarrely for South Park. The Movie disc is fine, thankfully, but Series 4 stutters and jerks around. Apart from that the remote's fine and worth buying (get the advanced SCART cable with optical plug & you can have Dolby Digital)

This really ought to be bundled with the xbox since it is so integral to the purchase, and particularly if there is a shortage of decent games (as at present) or you don't have a dvd player. In fact we really bought our xbox as a dvd player with game-playing capability.
The remote has a number of useful functions - like zoom - which enable you to get the best out of a widescreen dvd on a conventionally sized tv.

What can you say about the product except it lets you watch DVD's on your x-box. One point to note is while your DVD can potentially play discs from any region but once you plug in a remote form any of the regions the box becomes locked to that region.
