Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Bass overload
I bought these as a gift for my husband to use with his digital studio thing and guitars. His words to me were, "...this is over-biased and bass heavy!". So probably fine for DJ'ing at a disco (or whatever) but not much use if you want to hear what the original sound / source is like."

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastic Piece of Gear
The headphones have just arrived and I must say that I think they are brilliant! They fit snug round my ears and they cut out a lot of outside noise as well which is really cool.

But to the important bit: the sound - it's incredible! Very clear sound and the bass thumps away as though you have sub woofers on your ears. Other customers comment that this type of headphone, if not bought expensively, will sound bad because there is too much bass and it distorts the sound. That definitely does not apply here as there seems to be a perfect balance of everything.
I HIGHLY recommend these!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Exactly what i was after..
I was looking for a decent pair of headphones and had decided Sennheiser was the way to go. I'm not an expert in any way about this kind of thing, but know i wanted something with good sound and, above all, comfortable to wear. But how to choose from so many different ones?? As usual, the reviews helped to an extent but often contradicted. In the end, i found a shop which had all the different types on a rack. So glad I did. While all were good, i found it easy to choose the HD212pro. The sound was better than the cheaper ones (no surprise i guess but you could really tell the improvement, even to my cloth ears). But above all, they were lovely and comfy, pretty much 'around' the ear (like they all used to be years ago?), rather than 'on' the ear. That won it for me, decision made. Like i say, all the sennheisers i tried were good, but these just had that extra bang for the buck, i could wear them for hours at a time no problem. Hope this helps!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good For Recording
I bought a pair of Sennheisser HD212pro headphones because the sound leaking from my old hi-fi headphones was being picked up by my microphone whilst I was multitrack recording at home. A tinny sounding version of my song kept being recorded along with my vocals and live percussion.

I found the sound isolation of the HD212s to be very good, and the problem was solved. The sound was much fuller than my old headphones with lots more bass and treble frequencies, there was greater clarity too.

I used to mix through them too, but I have since progressed to using some budget priced monitors (Behringer MS20) which are much better for mixing as they have a flatter response.

The HD212s are great for pleasure listening. I like Heavy Rock, Blues and some Metal music and the sound is loads better than previous headphones and hi-fi speakers that I've owned in the past.

Overall they are lightweight, comfortable, sound great, have a long enough lead to walk about the room, and are well priced. They are good for recording.

My only complaint is that I would have liked a volume control.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Bass heavy and astounding!
I was so excited to receive them today having high expectation which was killed really! Yes for all you bass freaks this is outstanding for the price. I my self am a bass freak(hence why I bought these headphones). I've used them in music 8/10, movies 7/10 and gaming 9/10.

Pros: Very comfortable, lots of bass available(my ears were aching due to the rumbling), light weight. Good for gaming, movies and most types of music.

Cons: Can sound mono very occasionally whereas headphones these days give a 3D stereo sound so it doesn't sound like there is music arriving from all corners of the headphone. Nickel plated jack with oxygen free copper wire increases the resistance and more volume is required like an ordinary headphone.

Conclusion: They do take some getting used too. But truly you will fall in love with these specially if you listen to hip/hop and dance music. These sound just as as good as my 120W sub woofer without the whole house shaking. The deep end bass is present along with the other frequencies(high and mid range). You wouldn't need a 2.1 system(I own a Logitech Z 2300)with these they are just as good!
