- Great graphics and atmosphere - poor game.
I bought this game for my US gamecube when it was released in the states a while ago.
If you have played Resident Evil before you will know that the control system is extremely poor. The character controls are not natural and movement in the game is just far too slow. This is my main complaint about a game that could (and should) have been absolutely fantastic. There are a few other really annoying features of the game which will at some point leave you thinking "why???" like the fact you can only save at certain points and saves are limited (why?). You also have a small inventory and can't drop items as and when you need to, which means running all over the mansion to a trunk to drop an item you don't need if you picked it up. grrrrr.
There are some good points though. The graphics are superb and the games atmosphere is so real and scary that you wont want to play the game alone at night. The cut scenes are some of the best in a console game.
However I can't recommend the game, unless you enjoyed the terrible control system of the playstation original. There were just too many faults which should have been rectified but weren't.
