Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - jango fett, this your game!!!!
The bounty hunter, jango fett, appeared only in star wars episode 2. Unfortunatly, he was shamefully beheaded in the movie by Mace windu and lived one of the movie buisesisses shortest main character life spans, lasting a mear 42 minutes from introduction, to death. But his appearence left a lasting mark in star wars fans and also created a link between him and boba fett, his son who appeared in the earlier star wars films. But what did this devious bounty hunter get up to in his spare time and just how ruthless was he? Star Wars Bounty Hunter tell you just that.

You play Jango, (Duhh)a ruthless and fearless bounty hunter in the job for just one thing... the money of course!! But one fatefull day however would change his life forever. While in his hideout, Jango recieves a call from the mysterious Darth Tyranous who offers him an extremely considerable amount of money for the capture of the crazy ex-jedi, Komari Vosa. As Jango braves the journey to up to 8 different planets searching for this ominous jedi, he discovers that he was not the only informed of this hunt. His arch nemises, Montross, is also on the case and Jango is hell bent on killing anybody who stood in his way of this enormous bounty. You have access to one of the most formidable arsenals in the Star Wars galaxy. Such as Jango's trade mark weapons, the dual blasters, toxic darts, sniper rifles, Jango's jetpack complete with on-board missles, whip cable to ensnare and render an anemy competely helpless, id scanner so that you can determen if an enemy is a bounty or not and many more. But Vosa isn't the only being with a price on their head you know, and there is over 100 000 credits in bounties to be had in that vast galaxy. So, as an added feature, you can seek and capture other bounties that are just walking casually around the galaxy in three easy steps. 1: Scan for bountys with your id scanner, the scanner displays information on wether to take the suspect dead or alive and how much money you will recieve for capturing him/her. Also, it displays what crimes they have commited and how to best dispatch of them. 2: Mark your bounty so you can track his every movemet. 3: Finally, constrict your bounty via whip cable and claim your bounty with the triangle button, or kill then take him.

This is a game that you can really get addicted to and i strongly advise to buy this affordable, yet fun game.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Above all, its a star wars game
Ok I can admit it - I am a star wars geek. Maybe not to the bi-monthly-science-fiction-convention (BI-MON-SCI-FI-CON) depth, but a middle of the road 'I went to Leicester square to see them when they were released'' (note NOT in fancy dress) fan. I loved the original trilogy and will even say on public record that yes I even loved the new trilogy. So gaming titles from the star wars range, expanding that ever-expanding universe greatly appeal. Playing characters as cool as Jango Fett, well we have a game which is to search for an appropriate term... 'Gravy’. I eagerly await a title that compromises Mace Windu, Han Solo and Darth Maul. It could happen.

On to the game in question. I am not sure how far my rose tinted star wars spectacles can disguise a game. If one were to take out any star wars references from the game, and swap Jango Fett for 'James Fitt', I believe the result would be a game that is be only mediocre at the best. So can star wars make a good game? in this case I believe it does.

in its bare elements we have a platform game. Ok so we have moved on a lot since Alex in wonderland and Sonic the hedgehog, but the basic premise is based around platforms, and getting from start of level to the end and the typical components within:
~ Henchman; variety of weaponry, pattern movements, low AI.
~ Multiple heights / methods of movement; Ladders/lifts up/down, cutting through grates, ducking under, climbing over, long, jet propelled jumps, ravines etc.
~ End of level bosses; story line significant, heavy armored, heavy gunned, yet perseverance will succeed.
~ Non interact-able environment; bar the odd door/ control panel.
Reading that list, which is 100% accurate, the game sounds admittedly a bit pony. But somehow it isn’t. Somehow it is more than just an A-B game. Somehow - and I am not sure how- you do get an amazing sense of depth, achievement and eagerness to complete.

Give that is only a beginning to end platform level and there is only one destination, it should feel very linear. But somehow it doesn’t. We are not talking the freedom that GTA series or Deus Ex series gives but upon making my way from start to end, I felt completely throughout like I was exploring and coming up with new ways to reach the goal. The flip side of this is when you get to save point or end of level you realise that you were in fact following the only path available and don’t feel quite as special. it is an impressive illusion to create though.

Jango's arsenal is impressive, relevant to story line and realistically limited. Only your dual wielded blasters are infinite ammo. Aside of weapons, there is also a nifty addition to a plain old shoot-em-up. Throughout all levels, there are various bounties on henchmen or indeed members of public. One can detect/mark bounties (dead or alive) through a special data viewer. Although a nifty addition, (although frustrating to have to scan a room full of shooting baddies prior to smoking them all) your reward tallied up doesn’t count towards anything but a high score. It would have been a nice yet easy touch to perhaps be able to buy upgrades/ weaponry? Jango's Jet pack is undeniably cool. But apart from that there is no vehicle interaction in the game - again it would have been a nice touch to add another dimension to the game.

Overall it’s a great game. It's not overly thought provoking or deep, but it has good game play; even mindless, zero strategy pounding of your blaster button in order to clear the room is fun and never feels tiresome. It has a great story line, providing background to Attack of the Clones and one of Star Wars' coolest characters. There is also some great set pieces, not only in typical planetary individual-ness but for instance making your way up a huge skyscraper or between 2 skyscrapers (250-something floor) is utterly compelling, skipping rides on shuttles above a mile high ravine between warehouses is exhilarating and exciting.

It’s a great third person shooter. It is a brilliant star wars game. It’s an exceptional platform game. The lack of its 5th star is perhaps due to the fact it isn’t more than those 3 points when it feels like it could and should be.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Very Underrated Game
It's surprising the low key release this game had, because it is excellent and much better than the awful Starfighter and Clone Wars games. The graphics still look very good, obviously not up to the same standard as the latest games, but still they have aged well and certainly do not take away from the experience. As usual from Lucasarts the sound in the game is flawless, terrific John Williams score and kosher original Star Wars SFX from Skywalker Sound itself. But it's the gameplay where this game excels, giving surprising and great freedom with the jetpack, which you receive with and stick with very quickly, this isnt a game which is hard on its audience; it give unlimited ammo on the blaster pistols and generously gives ammo for everything else and there availiability of health is also thoughtful and well judged. The controls are very effective and means you'll be blasting enemies while hovering with your jetpack/ somersaulting in no time. Another plus is the camera system, the idea of such freedom with the jetpack was ambitious and a poor camera system would have instantly killed the game, however I have to say I was really impressed with the camera with very few occasions where it was frustrating or incorrectly placed.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Best star wars game i've played
I am a great star wars fan and have ,as everyone has been, embarresed to be a fan when you see what lucas arts is producing. However i got this game on recomendation of a freind and found it thoroughly enjoyable. Some odd and anoying things (Enemies that don't die when you set them on fire!?) Stopped this game reaching the five stars but still this is the best game from lucas arts for a VERY long time. Good graphics and an exciting plot give the game pace and action while keeping it from the herds of 'if it moves shoot it' games out there. Great range of weapons to kill you're enemies with (including a flame thrower, yes people burn!) and a great range of enemies to test those weapons on! Even some wierd 12 foot long cat thing!

Very enjoyable but brought down thanks to some dodgy parts. Well worth the buy if you're a star wars fan!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great fun, especially for Star Wars fans (like me)!
THE STORY:
A mysterious man named Tyranus hires several bounty hunters, including Jango Fett and his nemesis Montross, to kill Komari Vosa, the insane leader of an insidious cult. As Jango, you must follow leads from planet to planet in search of the Bando Gora cult, all the while keeping your helmet scanner tuned to any other bounties along the way. The game takes you to Outland Station, the skyscrapers of Coruscant, the prisons of Oovo IV, the jungles of Malastare, the deserts of Tatooine and the graveyards of one of the moons of Bogden.

WHAT'S GOOD:
This game is all about having fun. It's no in-depth thriller and for that I'm grateful. Too many games these days sacrifice sheer fun and replace it with a deep and meaningful plot, but here we get the fun left in and a reasonably good plot as well! The locations, sound effects and cut-scenes are all perfectly created to instantly transport you to that Galaxy Far, Far Away and LucasArts have gone as far as to get the actors who played Jango Fett and Zam Wesell in Episode II to voice those characters in the game. There's a good array of weapons to unleash (blaster pistols and rifles, whipcord, rocket launcher, flame thrower and others) against an even bigger array of enemies (including a giant dragon, a vicious Mandalorian warrior and Dark Jedi who wields two lightsabers!). The gameplay is nicely capped off by the opportunity to capture additional bounties and the introduction of the jetpack (which is great fun to use!). For Star Wars fans, we get to see how Jango meets Zam, how he becomes the Prime Clone and how he aquires his kick-ass ship, Slave I. A cameo appearance by a certain 'vile gangster' weaves in a bit more Star Wars flavour too.

WHAT'S BAD:
I couldn't fault the game on much, but I'm constantly irritated by the inclusion of the Tatooine level. It's silly, I know, but it bugs me that Tatooine is supposed to be a backwater and yet almost every single Star Wars characters goes there sooner or later. Also, if they were to make a sequel, I'd like to see some interaction with other in-game characters that doesn't involve you killing or capturing them (ask them for clues, that sort of thing).

Certainly the best Star Wars game on PS2 (it is, after all competing with the dire 'The Clone Wars'), 'Bounty Hunter' will have you blasting criminals (and torching innocent bystanders -HAHAHA!) for hours on end.
