Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Same as it used to be, good thing that's fantastic
Basically the exact same game as the SNES classic with nicer graphics, but fortunately, that makes for an absolutely fantastic game. After all these years, it retains the addictiveness and flawless gameplay of the classic, never becoming too frustrating.
Brilliant

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastic - Nintendo can't stop making good games!
Having already bought Mario 2, I was expecting something very similar with this game. However, I was delighted to find that when I played it for the first time, it was completely different. Instead of being Mario, you are Yoshi, and you have to play your way through a host of levels, finding secrets. The graphics are fantastic, so is the gameplay, and you can replay levels constantly to get a new hi-score!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Yoshi meets mario, sweeeet...
I bought this game with my GBA SP, and I'm so pleased I did. Yoshis Island has all the perfect aspects of a 2D platform game. The controls are fantastic, superb gameplay, and backed up with jaw dropping pastel shaded graphics. One word of warning though, without a backlight or one of those external lights for the GBA, this will be difficult to play.
I've only had the game for a fortnight and I'm half way through world 6 (there are six worlds)so it's not long, but it can be hard at places. Figuring out what to do is easy, it's just that doing it is harder.
I don't think there's much more I can say about this, it's just must buy for anyone with a GBA (/SP). But, the bosses are soooooo easy, getting to them is the hardest thing.
Although it is a short game, there's plenty of reply value as you can go back and get 100 points on each level.
Your GBA game colllection is not complete without this game. Is there going to be a Mario Advance 4?

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Yoshi's back!
Back in the early 90s not many people thought a sequel could possible be better than the SNES monster that was Super Mario World, but Nintendo pulled it off even without Mario as the main role.
The game bares up quite well today on the GBA. It looks less dated than Super Mario World thanks to its lovely pastel-coloured theme and it plays just as brilliantly as it did on the SNES. The only slight niggle is that (as with most GBA games) the sound quality is not good, and having been playing the SNES version for the last ten years it didn't really do some of the catchy tunes justice (in fact some of them sound so muffled and scratchy that I thought Nintendo had changed them). Stereo headphones help clear it up slightly though.
But that is only one niggle in an otherwise flawless conversion,... so go and get Yoshi now!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best platform game ever!
Yoshi's island was a game for the SNES about 5 years ago.It was the sequel to the magnificent Super Mario World, and to many, (including me) thought it betterd the SNES smash hit. Why? Because Nintendo have come up with a brilliat game with memromble chracters, a game packed with quirky ideas that are bound to amaze you, and some of the most beuatiful graphics ever to grace the 16-bit consle. Now, its back on the GBA looking better than ever.
The general plot is this. Yoshi comes accross Baby Mario, whose brother has been kidnapped from the evil wizard Kamek. Its up to Yoshi and friends to guide baby Mario across perilous paths and save his brother.During the game, Yoshi can turn into different forms such as a car or a helicopter, for a short time. You'll soon get used to the controls and you'll be happily fireing eggs at enimies in no time.

Overall, this game is absoulutly brilliant. If you are a GBA owner, this is a must-have. If you're not, its worth buying one for the game alone. The only downside is that its slightly short and that its another Mario GBA game with Mario Brothers in it.Again. But these minor niggles won't be noticed by the overall brilliance of the game.Buy it. You won't regret it.
