Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The sims are back!
I got this game for christmas from my parents for my new gamecube which i got off my boyfriend (pointless info!) and i was quite impressed. This is the second Sims game to be released on the Gamecube,i played the first one on the ps2 and although it was good,it was very limited. The Sims Bustin Out however has been opened up alot, there are two choices you can either play Bustin Out mode, where your objective is to move up in the world, complete goals (which unlock objects in build/buy mode and unlock social options) or free play mode like the game on the pc. In bustin out mode you can get jobs (which you could do in the first one) and get promoted. There are 10 jobs in all (that ive seen) all with about 5 promotions. In order to get promotions you must improve your skills (Ex.-Read,swim,workout,play guitar, etc) You can also jump in your car or on your scooter (yes you have transport!) and drive around, visiting people or even move out into a bigger better house. There are lots of different places to go like The Octagon-A military base,Pixel Acres-A nudist Camp (naked pingpong anyone?! Yes you can play it!) Studio 8-An art museum and Club Rubb-A nightclub-where you can shake that groove thang! In this mode you have to complete goals, some simple some harder, some you can complete in the comfort of the house some you have to visit other people to complete. By completing these goals you unlock objects for build/buy mode and also social options, which there are LOADS of,including towel snap, show muscles, magic trick, gossip, kiss hand, air kiss, insult, brag, scare and my personal favourite, pull my finger!
For those of you who dont like playing through levels of promotions and moving up in the world there is the normal Sims game (Free Play) where you create your own characters, make a house then live in it,simple as that. This is very limited, although you can still get jobs you cannot visit anyone and money seems to run out fast. However it is very addictive,i love decorating a new house and getting all the people inside to love/hate eachother.
The graphics for this game are SO much better than all the other Sims games, everything is smoother, the faces of the Sims are quite realistic,it is possible to actually make a sim look like yourself! The clothes are very modern and fun,the selection still includes those oh so popular red love heart boxer shorts! The music is better too,the music through out the game is not as annoying as past sims games and when the sims listen to their music on the game you cant help but bob along with it.
The whole game is great i had no problems, but there has to have atleast one flaw (its only fair) and this has to be that you can still only have a one floored house!!! We want stairs!!! And it can get a tiny bit annoying when your sims are depressed and there just doesnt seem to be enough time in the day to care for their needs, but the clever people at maxis and EA games have a cure for this...their is such thing as FREE WILL!!!!! Yay!!!! Even though most of the time its easier for you to contol your sim yourself.
If you have a gameboy advance, the Sims Bustin out for the gba and a link cable you can transfer sims onto the gba game from you gamecube and carry them around everywhere! Quite fun!

I would advise everyone to go out and buy this, its a very good game for both adults and children, the outcomes are endless! :-)

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - mmmmm
I actually dont know whether this game is good yet because i havnt played it, the reason for this like one of the last reviews is i didnt realise it used up so much memory, and didnt have a memory card big enough! So if you are thinking about purchasing the sims busting out, you will have to pay another £20 to get it to work!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Staircase without the stairs
im sorry to review that their hasnt been much of a change the graphics are the same but you can move in a bit further but no you cant get a second story house no you cant get a vehicle in the free play game no you cant visit friends in the freeplay game no animals not many new objects either. but it can be fun in the bustin out were you have to earn objects and options all-in-all what would i rather have an s club jouniors cd or this...this by a thew thousand miles.
ps i cant click on the knome in the money cheat whats going on. notb5@hotmail.com

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Give a Sim a Home
This game has the power to make you very happy, or very frustraited.
Personally I find it's a mix of the two. While it's an exquisite simulation game,
I find the Sims can some times be too demanding, which gives you less time to socialise them. You'll end up going to bed the minute you get home from work, and then annoying your Sims friends in the middle of the night just to see them before you leave again!
You are set goals for your Sim to complete and are rewarded with new pieces of furniture to buy, both for pleasure and skill building. The game gets a lot harder when you must control 3 Sims at once. It can get frustraiting at this point, because it is much harder to keep all 3 Sims happy.
I find getting into a regular schedule gives you more time, which you need for increasing your Sims skills and keeping up with buddies. It has good, clear graphics and easy smooth controls.
There are a variety of fun activities for a bored Sim, and plenty of new social moves and items of clothing to unlock as you complete your goals and progress through the levels.

This game is best suited I feel for those who are fans of life building games,
however I think it will be a cool addition to any gamers collection.

Overall apart from making you want to rip out your hair at times, it's a fab game, and I shouldn't turn my nose up at it before you've given it a fighting chance 0_-

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Make sure you have a large memory card.
I would reommend this game to most people who enjoy SIM themed games...but i must warn everyone that you will not be able to play this unless you have a 251 block memory card since it requires 161 blocks!!!
