Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Mario Kart leaves the competition in it's dust trail
Since Mario Kart on the SNES people have wondered: Will there be a better Mario Kart? The tight handling, the expert courses. All excellent. Then came Mario Kart 64, with it's corner boost and brilliant courses. But was it better.
This is. Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is quite simply brilliant. You can feel the good vibes as you open the red case, place it tentatively in the Gamecube, and turn it on. Races are tight, and at the same time arcadey - but both work well. You can now choose from up to 20 racers as pairs. Ingenious. It all oozes quality and brilliance, from Nintendo. Oh yes.
Buy this NOW. You deserve something nice.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The wait is over ... and its worth it!
I got Mario Kart DD for my 16th birthday and the first time I played it I thought the most anticipated game of the year was a flop. That was my first impression.

The second time I played it on 100CC the setting breathed a whole new colour to the game and I became 'hooked' suddenly. From then on I knew Nintendo had reeled me in with another magical game!

I don't know why I didn't like Mario Kart DD first time around, maybe because the change from the 64 and Advance versions was so big, the graphics and control are strange at first. Shame on the people who say this is simply an old version with new paint. They're wrong!

There are lots of characters to chose from in Double Dash, loads of karts, weapons and tracks. The game boasts secrets passages, kart banging and a whole lotta fun! Especially multi-player!

For curious parents - the Mario Kart Genre has been one of the hottest game collections of all time and its suitable and loads of fun for your children and you! Don't deny you aren't interested in the console hype.

Let Santa double dash this game into your stocking! Before Mario gets away!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - You need this!!
reallydeadguy how could you think DD!! is crap?? Its amazing and even tho it can be short theres still loads to do! u need this game!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Mario Kart: Double Dash
Arguably Nintendo's most anticipated game for many years, Mario Kart lives up to all the expectations set by the previous games in the series. Almost everything has been improved from course design to the sheer fun factor. The most noticeable new feature is of course the co-op mode, where you and a friend control the two characters on the one kart. This is more exciting than it sounds, as you and your friend squabble over who should be in control and only one minor slip up allows your friend to mock your dignity away. Another great feature is the LAN link up, allowing 16 players to play on 16 GCs and 16 TVs simultaneously. Unfortunately, broadband modems are required for each of the cubes, so this could set you back a bit. Although Nintendo didn't take advantage of this for online play. I do have some complaints however, there quite frankly aren't enough tracks, and unlockable N64 ones would have been nice (ie Super Circuit). But that's it as far as complaints go.
Buy this game - especially if you've got multiplayer access - it's worth every penny. And then some. Possibly the best in the Mario Kart series so far. Sheer brilliance.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - What Another Mario Kart Smash!
After having SMK and MK64, I was very looking forward to Double Dash. Am a little disappointed that there aren't a great deal of new features, and the fact that there are 2 players in the kart makes absolutely no difference to the gameplay.
Still only 16 tracks! I would've thought there'd be more for this one as it was so easy to get bored of Mario Kart 64. And you can only play 12 of them until you unlock the Special Cup.
Gameplay is all the same and everything you expect, A for acceleration and X to fire.
If you though MK64 was extremely easy and that you will be unlocking Special Cup in no time, think again. MKDD is a hard game for beginners, even if you have a lot of previous MK experience. I'd say start off on Time Trials to practice, then start on Grand Prix 50cc and so on.

If you're new to the mario kart series, this is the game for you!
