Electronics : Sharp MDMT170 Portable Mini-Disc Player

I've had my MD-MT170 for a little over a year and a half and it's served me fine. It innevitably has a few failings, but for my first mini-disc player it's impressed me greatly and made the transition from tapes to digital an easy step.
Battery life is quite good, though I have noticed it deteriorates slightly. this is not a major problem and it is still more than practical even to this day. also if possible I would recomend getting the additional battery pack purely because it's just annoying to suddenly run out of power and have no music all day!
The sound quality is excelent (assuming you have a half decent set of headphones) and is easily comparable to CD quality (one of my fears when reading about MP3 players). However it is a little prone to shocks (having no anti-shock system) so I'd recomend an inside jacket rather than a rear jean pocket for carrying it about. Also please do invest in a lens cleaner. I noticed after the first couple of months it took forever to recognise anything and kept getting the "cant read" message up. a quick (less than a minute) clean and it was as good as new.
charging is simple, and recording fairly straightforward (though the amount of time it takes to plug in the leads, and the limit to recording in real time does limit it slightly). Also there is a slight habbit of buttons pressing themselves when I've accidentally sat on it or something, but there is a very straightforward hold system which I rarely use as it's not realy necesary.
There is an optical line in and various digital features I've never gotten my head round, but for what I wanted it for it's served me wonderfully.
all in all if it can out up with the way I treat it for over 18 months and still be as useful as the day I bought it, it's gotta be good!
