- Finally!
Finally we XBox owners have got the chance to get our hands on these glorious games. Many of my friends succumbed to the PS2 and I was downheartened that as an XBox owner I was the only person without GTA. Now the quality of the XBox has been recognised. The graphics are improved but not to the higher levels of the XBox's ability unfortunately, the same great gameplay is present and the only slight discrepency is the slightly annoying 'Trails' or blur effects, but it's only a minor point. Overall a great games.

Who can honestly say they dont know about Grand Theft Auto? Both GTA III and Vice City became monster hits and pop-culture phenomenon last year and in 2001. They were a big reason (perhaps the only one) that Sony's PlayStation 2 pulled ahead in the console war against its rival, the Microsoft XBOX. When it was selling so well on the platform, an XBOX edition seemed a distant dream but its here now, and boy was it worth the wait!
As a gamer who never owned a PlayStation 2, when I saw this incredible title that almost made me purchase a console just so I could play it appear on the XBOX shelf, I was both shocked and incredibly happy. I hadnt seen a review of this game but I didn't need to and I brought it straight away on impulse. This is an amazing package. You get two of the best and arguably most incredible games of the past two years all for the price of one! What a brilliant way to bring the GTA series onto the XBOX!
Content wise, there is nothing new here. Apart from the very cool feature of putting your own music onto the soundtrack of the game. The graphics are almost identical but you'll find an improved frame rate on the XBOX version. Baisically, there isnt much else to say. If like me you never had the pleasure of owning these titles on the Sony machine, than this is an absoloute MUST purchase. Every gamer needs this game in thier collection, and with this unrivaled XBOX version there really is no excuse. Dont give it a second thought, just get it.

GTA3>A Vice City have finally been released on the Xbox...over a year since us PS2 owners got our mits on it. The PS2 version is excellent and this is obviously going to be more 'polished' on the graphics front. But what's so much better? The slightly better graphics? Well it ought to be since it's 3 times more powerful. The ability to customise your own soundtrack? So what? The soundtrack on the original PS2 version was owesome. Anyway.
You play as Tommy Vercetti who has just got out of jail and is looking for a job. You do a variety of missions. Some which have no connection to the main storyline missions (for example the telephone missions). There are also side missions such as 'Vigilante' in which you chase after criminals in a police car or military vehicles (not mentioning specific names). Steal cars, motorbikes, and twist 'n go's (not mopeds as some people call them). Fly helicopters, drive boats. The game is packed!
Obviously Xbox owners will be jumping for joy as two of the games that made PS2 are coming to Xbox. I doubt very much if the Final Fantasy range will come to Xbox and Project Gotham 2 will not stand up to the likes of Gran Turismo 4. Also, online gaming is cheaper on PS2. No monthly fees apart from a broadband subscription.
So please PLEASE stop slagging off the PS2 as has done absolutely nothing wrong...and..look..it gave you Xbox owners polished and refined versions GTA3&Vice City in a double pack! Lastly, one question. If the Xbox is so much better than Playstation 2, then why haven't they made many good games? And don't say HALO!

gta 3 and vice city are two different games and whats more you will believe a friend turns out into an enemy sometime or other.now to vice city.
alright you are public enemy no.1. you can hit people but if you die to many times tommy will be knocked out every frequently i mean he dreams of falling so the ambulance drops tommy off and recovers. i will give vice city 7.7/10
gta 3 basclly vice city minus the helicopters and bikes you have only a few guns.i would give gta3 9.2/10 gta 3 is a better game vice city had every thing with no room for good gameplay. buy for gta 3 i gave it 4 stars because vice city

Well after waiting for this to be released for over a month I finally got my hands on the game and it's amazing.
The graphics are stunning, the cars reflect the scenery correctly, the sounds seem to have improved (whether this is true or not I have no idea...). All in all a high quality game that loads faster and saves faster than the PS2 version.
Once you equalise the grpahics / sounds of GTA III and GTA VC, GTA III actually stands out as the best game -and so is the one I have been playing far more.
There are however a few gripes with the game. When starting up the game has trails turned on - this makes the screen very fuzzy and not that pleasent to watch. When you turn this off there are occasions when the game play is a bit jerky. This doesn't affect your character, but the AI controlled ones. It's not a big issue but certainly large enough to warrent 4 stars instead of 5.
