Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Enix is a leech. Just look at what it's doing to Square!!!
Doesn't it seem an awfully big coincidence that as soon as Squaresoft become SquareEnix, the games begin to get worse and worse? Now this game isn't awful but they are starting to try and become something they are not.

'Oh wow!! You get to chnage there dresses!!! That totally makes this game worth getting!'...we don't need some crazy cutscene with them changing their dresses. It's just a jazzed up version of the job system in FF5 which I think was very weak. It may let you customise your party but parameters just evaporate... 'I'm a Dark Knight I have high strength...ooh now I'm a Black Mage and I have low strength tee hee hee look at how versatile I am.' It's just plain irritating.

The story is attempting to carry on the story which I think was very nicely concluded in FF10. However this new story is very dry and because of it they have crammed it full with so many side quests to hide this fact that the side quests actually outweigh the real story filled with incompetent villains (A women with a heart tattoe, with two henchman: one fat and one thin...kind of cliched don't you think?)and a bunch of other cliched characters (paine is an absolute pain). And the sidequests are mission based to make it seem like something worthwhile...when they are really random and pointless. Especially near the end where they steal the obvious and flawed random dungeon idea and make it even more boring. Oh yeah and sphere break? Sphere break!? What are you doing?

OK the FMVs are impressive... but they don't require story creativity and just require expensive computers and graphic design. All this they had before Enix appeared and allied with Squaresoft. Enix are the reason they're going downhill, I mean FF12 was awful. We need to stop Enix before there is no Square left and they'll be called Enixsoft. THE HORROR!!!

Now I may be exagerating a bit. This game isn't awful and Enix did contribute a little ('Um...how about when you press circle you can jump. Will that cover up the fact we ruined the storyline?) but you need to know that this is NOT a FF experience. Your best bet is to by FF7, FF8, FF9, FF10...or any of them in fact if you want a good old fashioned final fantasy. Stay away from this until your sober...or know what you're doing. Please. Viva La Resistance!!!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - get on with it.........
i hadn't come across any of the series before FF X..........presumably this was intended to appeal to women who are under-represented among gamers but tend to prefer less violent games. however although i think the graphics are lovely and i like the characters, i get very bored with endless battles that hold up the story and i get particularly bored with getting killed all the time and having to repeat bits you've already played. (although i get real satsfaction out of finally beating some damn monster that's been giving me grief for hours, so much for being less violent..........) on the whole i think the game is great, just too slow to get on with the story.......

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Tosh.
To say that it is a sequel to one of the best RPGs on the play station...I'd rather that I never bothered. There are some pretty cutscenes, and the singy bits are nice to look at...but other than that...Their costumes were designed for dirty old men to get off on, and the story leaves lots to be desired, and I was thoroughly disappointed by the 'perfect' ending. I don't particularly like the battle system and blitzball has gone rather down the pan. the only good bit was when I looked at the mission screen at the end and everything was all "chapter complete"...that's another thing, actually...MISSIONS! noooooooo! what were square thinking?

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - FF X-2
After completing FFX (which was absolutely amazing!) I eagerly awaited this game when i found out it was coming out. i hit the shops an bought it, took it home and played for hours on end.
I think this game is great!! The CGI is fantastic, tho i have to admit it's weird to see Yuna as pop star...
I agree with what sum people were saying about this game doesn't have that much to do with Yuna and Tidus, but the game is still quite enjoyable. the battle system is cool with the new dressphere system, but the random battles are still as annoying as ever!
All in all i think you should buy it, especially if you're an FF Fan!!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - The whole truth and nothing but the truth? ... Not likely.
"Discover the truth behind Yuna's story..." is what the back of the case says. Though I wouldn't agree completely. Instead, it followed the story of two completely different people - the only link being that they looked remotley like Tidus and Yuna which was a little annoying.
So you can imagine my disappointment, when really, there was no truth revealed behind Yuna's story - we didn't learn anything more about her nor about Tidus. I felt like nothing was truely resolved in this, unless you knew how (secret endings etc etc).
Contrary to this, it was fun and entertaining. The dressphere system is a good idea, and there are plenty of mini-games and missions to keep you going. Brought back, are the characters of Rikku (who's great!), Wakka, Lulu, Kimahri and other familiars for FFX.
Again, I wasn't let down by FF, the characters were all different and had personalities which is good in a RPG of course.
I would definately recommend playing FFX first, if you haven't already. AND I would really only play this 'as something to do' rather than commit your self to it.
