Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - not the best online game
hi

i use to play this game alot a started out with the 10 day trail then i bought the game and started paying to play, but after a week it got boring, and iv played loads of online games, but like someone said cartoon graphics, i dont think this game is a big hype for me, to addictive for a start can take you away from the real world, you shoulded have to be paying for it as well as buying the game id say monthly fee and thats it, not pay for the game as well, or just pay for game no monthly fees, to tell the truth buy this if you like cartoon graphics and paying alot more than its worth, losing freinds up to you,

but i say want good gamming no monthly fees, not to adaictive more expansion, go for guild wars, 5 times better than this

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wow by name Wow by Nature............
The name really does say it all, what a fantastic game this is. I must confess that I've always been slightly cynical at having to pay to play an online game, and I still don't with this one notable exception. That said whilst playing the game you do get a real sense that Blizzard isn't just banking the millions they're raking in off the back of this game. Once you've started playing it soon becomes obvious the amount of investment that's required to not only maintain but more importantly improve the online world.

I originally downloaded the 10 day demo one rainy weekend and only a deployment to Afghanistan has stopped me playing. I suppose that's the only downside to the game, once you've started you'll find it hard to stop! The attention to detail is unbelievable, the structure of the game is also just right, hats off to Blizzard they have clearly raised the bar with this great game.

The game its self is a fine balance of action, adventure and intrigue. The diversity in the game is also second to none, with at least six different races to choose from that are actually very different to play. Choose your race an affiliation wisely, but by all means don't limit yourself to just one character. The game carefully takes you in and walks you slowly through the first ten levels of your characters development, this really is a god send as without the carefully scripted start you won't last ten minutes out the wide world of Warcraft. Rather than getting frustrated by the lack of freedom at this stage of the game use it as the opportunity it's meant to be and learn all the nuances of your race, class and character. Word of warning, choose your primary skills early and choose them wisely.

The only downside is downloading the Gigs of updates that are required to play the game, this is of course a necessary evil and just goes to prove how much time and effort Blizzard are putting into continually developing WoW. I would defiantly recommend reading the online help guides and setting up your router to allow the P2P software to download as quickly as they can.

I'd whole heartily and unreservedly recommend this game to any serious RPG fan around the world! Buy it now I promise you won't be disappointed.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Amazing!!!!!!
This game is the best game i have ever played. Unlike any other games this game has a very smooth gameplay even on high graphics on a half decent computer. Ok, so you have to have an internet connection to play + you have to pay for the pleasure of playing it but it is worth it. This is probably the best game of the year and will be for a few more. I really recommend this game to you if you do not own it and happy gaming if you do.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - World Of Warcraft
I first decided to purchase WoW (World of Warcraft) after seeing the advert on TV. If you're looking for a MMORPG then this is the game to go for. I played it for around a year. There is one warning I can give for this game and that's the addiction to it. I found a craving to carry on playing just to level and become the highest level (70). A way of summing up this game is calling it a virtual life, that's because essentially it is. You can do anything you want to (in moderation) you don't have to focus on the levelling part of the game, you can explore new lands or RP a low level character. Upon reaching level 70 you enter a whole new stage of the game. A place where you realise the true immensity of WoW. Where true players who raid 24/7 literally roam. I then joined a guild for raiding. The experience of working with 40 other people I have to recommend highly. It takes great teamwork and preparation to achieve the goal of taking down a boss. It does take dedication to the game, you loose a lot of time outside of WoW. For an example on a lot of occasions I found myself Turing down friends because I had to raid.
The only bad thing in game I can find about WoW is lag; if you have a slow processor or internet connection this can ruin your experience of WoW. Starting fresh to WoW you find out you're a "noob". This can become frustrating when you ask someone where a bank is for example and they call you a noob. Though some players do show you and you can always ask an NPC.
Overall I would recommend this game to anyone. It is a truly amazing experience.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not too Shabby!
I have heard the tales of WoW, the teamwork, the hours put in by some people, the addiction.. and when I saw the ten day trial.. signed up to give it a whirl.

After waiting 2 days (I am on superfast broadband, just a rather nasty P2P file delivery system) for the game to install I was off.

Now,I have played many fantasy games, and I always have in my head certain characters who I create. My firs impression of Wow was extreme disappointment. Not only are the classes / races very limited.. but some of the classes are also barred to certain races. You want a human ranger.. forget it.

However, I finally settled on my dwarf hunter, and hit my second disappointment.. customisation of your chracters appearance is virtually none existant.. they pretty much look the same universally. The main way to change how your character looks is via clothing and equipment. I suppose Oblivions charcter creation spoiled me somewhat.. but I digress.

Playing the game.. well.. to be honest, it is NOT newbie friendly at all. If you have never played a MMO you may struggle without a major read of the manual. No tutorial other than a few pop up boxes every now and then. The chat boxes are flooded, so forget asking a question on there.. and the atmosphere is occasioanlly ruined by characters invariably called 'asfdjhajhj' who do nothing but stand around and spout webpages where you can buy online cash.. and this on an 'atmospheric' RP server.

However, overall.. it is a fabulously fun game.. especially as a hunter when you get your pet. The graphics are 'cartoony' but still veryimpressive. You first walk into Ironforge, and the Great Forge in the middle I challenge you not to be impressed.. or take your first flight on a Griffon and gasp at the faboulous scenery or the amazingly smooth load-free transformation from zone to zone.

and yes, I can see why the addication.. I am currently skinning everything in sight, and gathering herbs like they are going out of fashion just to get lovely silver to buy more training.

So far, interaction is very.. halting.. and what conversation I have had seems swkward.. but maybe I am just not fully happy with the interface yet.. time will tell.

Needless to say.. give it a go, but if you have an addicitive personaity.. or can get easily lost in a game.. stay away for your own sakes. My trial is over in a day or two.. and I have the full retail version winging on its way to me now.

See you in ironforge.. Thunderbrew is on me!
