Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - My favourite game!
Prince of Persia WW is by far one of the best games ever created and on the PS2. San Andreas comes close but for me WW is better. The Storyline is fantastic and will keep you emerged, the graphics are absolutely breathtaking, just going through the game and seeing the environments and scenery you will be amazed. It just shows how much time effort and creativity were spent making it. The fighting is excellent you can do loads of different moves and destroy your enemies much better than POP1 and not that much worse than POP3.

I first heard of POP Sands of time but didnt pay much attention to it and when WW came out and got the IGN rating of 10/10 i had to buy it especially after being into Onimusha and Devil May Cry. To be honest when i 1st put it in i didnt like it, i didnt get past the first boss and just left it. But i thought if it got 10/10 it must be special so i persevered. I beat the first boss and went through the game and was impressed. The Dahaka chase sequences are excellent and requires fast thinking. And the puzzles are amazing and cant be compared to any game. Onimushas are too fake and dont fit in with the game, WW have to do with the game and, God of Wars are good but arnt as puzzling, u really have to think n WW but thats good.

When i finished the game i sold it but bought it like a yr after just to complete it again and take the platinum copy and it still remains the only game i completed twice. I suppose what everyone loves is the ancient world of Babylon left for you to explore and the free running or acrobatic movements the Prince has at its disposal. I compare every adventure game i get to this, the only one thats come even close is God of War, Onimusha, and DMC but POP still shines the brightest. I respect Ubisofts Canada Montreal Studios after this and im waiting to see if Assassins Creed is any goo. Buy this game.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - A bugged disappointment
First off, Warrior within isn't a bad game in itself. However, after the gem that was "The Sands of Time"; Warrior Within disappoints.

Firstly, the Prince. In "Tne Sands of Time" he was a lovable, cheeky prince that seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, in Warrior Within he's seemed to turn all arrogent and "Hard", and much of the charm from the first game is lost in one fell swoop.

Second, the difficulty. The Sands of Time was perhaps a little too easy to complete, however the game developers have now swung completly in the opposite direction and made the game too hard. Even on "Easy" difficulty, it's still bloody tough to comeplete and don't even ask about "Hard"....

Thirdly, the bugs. Sands of Time had a few but they wern't critical to the completion of the game. In Warrior within, they are. I won't spoil the plot for you but the two main bugs mean you can't complete the game at all, meaning you have to start over again, with no guarentee that the bugs will be gone this time.

Lastly, the music. If you enjoyed the music from the first game then you're not gonna like this. If you're not a "Metal" fan (i am, however, so I was ok) then listening to the same "Godsmack" tune over and over again for the entire game isn't going to make you happy.

There are, however, some good points. The fighting system has been completly overhauled, and now there is the "Combo" system. If you have played the first game then this may take some time getting used to, but it's much more fun and hugely rewarding when you get it right. One thing i will say though, is that there are too many combo's and it will take a while to learn them all (or, at least, the ones you need).

The graphics are also great. Light streaming through the windows, the ripples of water, and the Prince himself all look magnificant.

Warrior Within is a good stand alone game, however if you played The Sands of Time you're going to be disappointed. If you can see through the bugs, the difficulty and the Prince, then you might enjoy it, but i'd reccomend you rent rather then buy.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Beautiful but bad
As mentioned by one or two other reviewers Prince of Persia looks absolutely stunning. Also as mentioned by other reviewers it has considerable frustrations in game play terms. Fighting is generally fine - you can indeed create your own moves ! However completing puzzles and getting past traps are very definitely NOT. Don't even bother starting without a game guide... Even with a game guide it is exceptionally frustrating - you will have to re-play many sections not once but five, six, seven times before completing it successfully. Even with Sand (effectively a re-wind time function) almost all the traps, first time through, prove fatal.....

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Woo a flying carpet!
Well this is a very good game albeit if you havent played the first game (which i hadnt) then the controls and jumping about malarky take a bit getting used to. In the beginning its *very easy* to fall to your death. But you soon get used to leaping around like an olympian gymnast no worries. Graphics are excellent but still images dont do them justice. The animation and fluidity of the prince is in a class of its own. The sound effects as well are done to the same high standard. I tell you i would get bored of dying and going through the same leaps and climbs again if it were not for the wonderful animation and satisfying sounds the prince makes when climbing and when his hands are slapping against the rock marvelous!

However there are some concerns. The in-game story isnt maintained strongly enough throughout you are left feeling a bit lost. The cutscenes (although well done) sort of interject and are not as seamlessly intertwined into the game/story. You end up running around the same areas again and again which can be repetitive.
Another thing as well...on my first encounter with the Dhaka(sp) i was impressed with the chase scene but as soon as the sequence is over he vanishes for some reason which harms the realism factor.

You just feel in a bit of a maze...at times...most of the time you will be wondering what you do next and how to get there. Sometimes the traps can be a bit over heavy imo. There should be more combat. I really hope the the 3rd Prince of Persia doesn't continue the whole game heavy with traps and jumping puzzles as i feel you just cant pad out a whole game like this even if it is done phenomenally well. I hope they take it to another dimension and introduce other elements and dont just make what they do have better because imo what is already in Warrior Within is just about perfect.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good game bad sequal
The Prince Of Persia Warrior Within is a very good game, generally speaking. Combat is exciting, climbing and dodging leathal looking traps is all spontaneosly exhilarating. I particulary like combat for all the new and availiabler moves like that strange break dance assult, the fact that you can pick up enemy weapons or even take the out of a crate is an excellent idea.

However, and a big HOWEVER...

The first game is so different it hurts, firstly the old prince was english (Horah!) had a sense of humour and curiosity. It felt more rewarding in completion ofg the sands of time for the plot was simple and not a wtf set up like this one. Questions, Why is it totally different? Why is the new guy american? Why is he so unlike the old guy? Why no humour why why why???
