Toys : Postman Pat Van - Friction

My daughter is Postman Pat mad and that fact alone made this an obvious choice for a Christmas present. The van itself is bright red and pleasingly chunky whilst it incorporates two sturdy figures, Pat and Jess of course. The figures can be slotted into their seats making the toy look better and other features such as wing mirrors and opening doors make for a polished product. The key feature of course is the van's independent movement; when pushed it will travel several inches (this of course works best on hardwood floors, laminate or vinyl rather than carpet). My only minor gripe is that you have to push quite hard to make the toy travel - I found out the hard way on Christmas morning when I pushed it to show my daughter and a wheel broke off! Amazon were very good and replaced the item as defective but it's worth knowing this to avoid over-enthusiastic parents spoiling their child's fun rather than enhancing it.

My nearly-3-year-old son adores this and the others from the range. It is strong and durable, and altogether brilliant.
Pat himself is slightly disappointing; the paint flakes off from round his nose after 6 months of daily play (or 'abuse' in other words), and he is in soft-ish rubber and fixed sitting down. My son ignores him and plays with the jointed hard plastic version we bought separately who is the same size and fits the van perfectly.
The only other minor niggle is that the back doors of the van don't open. To a small person this means Pat can't 'pick up all the postbags in his van' as the song goes - there's nowhere to put them!
There's plenty of room for Jess to ride with Pat - or any of the other characters that you can also buy.

This is the best friction vehicle I have come across. We have a through lounge and with just one gentle push it will go from one end of the room to the other! Makes a lovely satisfying noise as it goes too. My son has played with this non-stop since he was 20 months old (now 2.5) and it has no bumps, scratchs and still looks brand new. Would highly recommend.

My twin grandsons absoultely loved this postman pat van when I purchased it from Amazon for their recent third birthday, so much so that out of all the toys bought they kept coming back to this time and time again. I am now having to buy another as they need one each!!

i bought this toy for my daughter's third birthday. she loves the postman pat episodes on tv. the van is excellent value for money and hours of fun. only negative point is that postman pat's legs are stuck in a seating position.
