- More attractive and compact than they look
The image for these speakers does them no justice: This picture shows what they look like when in use - and it seems a bit boxy. But when closed and not in use, this speaker system is a slim, elegant item. It is about the half the size and shape of a typical paperback book. And the clever design means that you open the cover to create a stand for it to rest on. Hard to describe, but attractive all the same!
The sound quality is decent and works well with a range of devices. On our recent holiday the kids used it to improve the sound of the portable DVD that they took, and the adults used it to listen to mp3-stored music on our i-river. It has only minimal controls - volume adjustment - so it does help if the output device can be adjusted for bass etc, to your taste.
Overall, very satisfactory, and worth the money, given that the system appears to be robust and durable.

I was looking for some travel speakers to use while randomly going about but i owned some bog standard ones. The sound they produced was like trying to use headphones as speakers (doesnt really work) So next step i thought was going for some high quality travel speakers.first things first the design is very very stylish like a match made in heaven with my i pod. The flip out design means the speakers are protected when not in use and they just are cool to look at. I turned these speakers on and was quite amazed, also cool to listen to them. For there size they are absolutely great. It is room filling sound even having the urge to turn it down which is a testament saying its a portable speaker. Also very good for outdoor use and they produce high quality sound. I can hear the bass and low end well and the whole sound is amazingly balanced. Overall a great product!!

I have been looking to buy a set of decent speakers to use on holiday with my mp3 player, having always borrowed them in the past.
I eventually chose these and after comparing the sound with all the others I have to say these are so superior in range , clarity and volume that they are in a totally different class.
The build quality is also excellent.
Yes they are expensive, but they are worth it. Why buy a cheap set of speakers that will irritate you rather than be a pleasure to listen to ?

I was very impressed with these speakers, quality packaging, excellent mid and top-range, bass is a little weak but a little tweaking to my player's audio settings sorted that out to a suitable level, the sound certainly fills a good size room. I found the sound to be crisp and clear. I like these speakers!

I bought these on JBL's reputation and of course for their prospective convenience. When I recieved them, it seemed a wise choice. Took them out of the box, looked ace, well packaged and were very simple to get up and running. Turned them on and...pppphhhhtttthhhhbbbbt...flaccid.
I think maybe I was expecting too much. For all their looks and polish the sound was an underachiever and even though it is certainly crisp, the lack of lower end just blew it for me (or didn't depending on which way you look at it). I know they're travel speakers but they're not cheap; the bass is on a half day and for what low range there is, it's just shouted down by the mid and high ranges as if it were a spectator in a bad marriage (hmmm...I'm not sure what I mean here either?). If JBL could work something out to get a more enthusiastic low range response in there without affecting the size / convenience of the unit then these would no doubt be proper proper brilliant.
