DVD : Ministry Of Sound: Pump It Up! The Ultimate Dance Workout

I tried this DVD after numerous reviewers mentioned how challenging it was. As a fitness lover who works out religiously 3 times a week, I found this DVD far too easy. The dance section is very low intensity and the choreography simple. The following aerobic section is medium intensity, again with simple choreography. The toning section is very basic indeed with simple sit-ups only and not in a sufficient quantity to be effective.
I would recommend this for beginners or those of intermediate fitness, but certainly not for anybody already fit looking for a new challenge. The music leaves a lot to be desired with lots of uninspiring instrumental music - and don't hold your breath waiting for the "Call On Me" song either!
If you want a real workout that will have you reaching your aerobic threshold, try Cathe Friedrich instead.

I really enjoyed this DVD. It gets you sweating and by the end of it you really feel like you've done a good workout. I repeat the Bum and Tum part, as i dont feel that doing it once through is quite enough. But other than that i really enjoyed it.

After reading the positive reviews about this fitness DVD I had it purchased for my birthday and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed.
It says ' The Ultimate Dance Workout ' but it's not really dancing, more like step aerobics and I wanted it especially for the dancing as I enjoy it. It reminded me of a keep fit class, however, that's the only niggle I have and I think if I watch it a couple of times and do it more times, I might change my mind. Because I already have a high fitness level as it is, and it didn't really raise my heart up and get me sweating.
I like the presenter, she is friendly and unintimidating and fun and the ministrey of sound soundtrack in the background motivates you to work harder. So I give the other two stars to the actual presentation of the DVD itself.

I bought this dvd last year, and have bought a few more since then - but this one still firmly remains my favourite! I love the soundtrack and once you get a hang of the moves, they are really fun to follow. I went to aerobics with a friend last week, and couldn't beleive I could keep going while everyone was dropping like flies around me - so it really does make a difference. The high energy section is a killer, but Deanne keeps you going! I love the chill out at the end, it's relaxing and keeps you very supple. I have yet to find an excercise dvd that compares.
