Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Yu Gi Oh: Not Just A Fan's Game.
When I first bought this game, I was expecting it to be something I'd play for a few months, but I'd soon get bored with, however that is not the case.

It is even easier to play than MTG:Online, and even PSO3, though the gameplay can not be compared to any of these fully, as it differs so much.

You have over 1,000 cards to choose from to build a deck of 40-80 cards, (plus an optional side deck of 15 cards to use in the "best out of 3" games), to battle a myriad of popular characters from Shonen Jump's popular series.

Thankfully, unlike the other games, you don't get the character telling you what card they're going to use, then explaining it's effects all the time, though this can also work against it, if you're not aware of the basic rules for the concept of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, though these are included in the manual, and can be picked up fairly quickly.

As said, the playability is a dream, just tap the card to use it, yep, you tap the card to play the card, as if you've got them in your hand, and you can view the effects and stats of a card before playing it, (shown on a minuture board on the bottom of the screen).

When the cards battle, a small animation occurs like those featured in Pokemon TCG on the GameBoy Color.

The music is more there for background noise, though it does have an emotional feel to it, that makes every battle seem vital.

The game also features a challenge mode where you have to beat a certain deck with another deck within a turn, and also a great multiplayer option.

There are a couple of setbacks though, most of these are purely grammatical, and are from a dodgy translation from Kanji into English, but there are others, like mixed up card effects, (Kunai With Chain and Blast With Chain, have each other's effects for example), also, you often feel as if the game is either too easy, or too hard, (characters like Serenity Wheeler and such, usually only heal themselves or constantly put chards into defence position, which can be defeated with even the most basic of decks).

Overall, I'd say this game is definatly worth getting, it'll challenge your intellect, and also is a great game, especially if you have someone else to play it with, and then you can shout at each other as if you're Yami Yugi and Seto Kaiba, and that just adds to the entertainment value.

I was never a massive fan of YGO, and thought that nothing could beat Pokemon TCG, (GBC), I was wrong, and this game is the proof.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Yu-Gi-Oh game yet
My son Michael loves this, this is what he wrote

Yu-Gi-Oh Nightmare Troubadour is the best Yu-Gi-Oh game there is out now.
The graphics are so clear that when you play a monster card it will be displayed on screen in the same fashion as on the TV show.
There are over 1000 cards in the game to collect on screen, this includes the three god cards.
The game comes with 3 yu-gi-oh game cards.

You can end a dual in seven ways, they are:
1 You or your opponent life points go down to zero that player loses.
2 If both you and your opponent life points hit zero it is a draw.
3 If you or your opponent can not draw a card the other player wins.
4 If you or your opponent has all 5 of the exodia series the player who does wins.
5 If a player has destiny board and the 4 spirit messages on the field that player win.
6 A player can win by the card final countdown.
7 A player can win by the card last turn.

Overall this is the best yu-gi-oh game there is.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - best yu-gi-oh game around
over 1000 cards, every variety of card you can think of, pretty much every strategy possible available. this game just never ends. even after u beat the main game, which although fun can get a bit repetitive with the constant walking around to find duels, the game keeps u hooked.

there are the courses of duelists to fight ure way through. there are the hindreds of cards to collect. there is the personal challenge of finding your ultimate deck. the fact is there isnt a better yu-gi-oh game out there. buy it

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A Nightmare? Not a bit!
If you like the Yu-Gi-Oh series of games, the Nintendo DS adds the dimension of being able to click and drag the cards to and from your deck - ok it's a small thing - but it works! The concept of the game is the same as always and, aside from "chasing round the map" trying to find duelists, works better in this format than in any other I've played. The load screen is a little frustrating, and sometimes the computer play can be a bit fast to know what's going on, but this really is an addictive card based game that uses the DS functionality well - and not obtrusively to really add to the game play. Yu-Gi-Oh is not for everyone that's for sure, but if you know and like the game then this is an excellent adaptation.
