Video Games : The Sims 2 (GameCube)

Rating: - Get a life but not literally
So the lastest Sims game makes its inevitable move of the PC on to the consoles, and here we have the gamecube version. And unless you've been living under a rock for the past few years, the sims 2, like the first sim game; is a very fun and refeshing different game that has you guiding a virtual person's life (sim) good or bad thoughout their life.

Good:
- The classic, different and addictive 'The Sims' gameplay is all here, and you'll be busy putting in the gameplay hours to see how successful and happy you can get your sim, or how much money and possesions you can get, or just making your sim's life a misery!
- The humour and the good graphics / control system is here as well, its a hoot to play and it feels and looks good to.

Bad:
- This game is better on the PC; the console versions, like this gamecube version, is full of flaws due to converting over from the PC, the controls can be fiddly with the control stick, the graphics can not work too well when you are looking at them far away on a TV screen, etc.
- Also, the console version loses something in the translation; it's a slightly stripped down version that has poorer AI, some options taken out, bits like that.
- Takes up a HUGE amount of space on your memory card.

Overall:
If you can get this on the PC, go for the PC version which it works better on and it is the superior five-star version. If not, its still a good purchase, just make sure you have a big memory card!

Rating: - Sims 2- Dissapoints?
Having never owned a sims game before but enjoyed it when playing at a friends, i thought it was about time i bought my own. Unfortunately looking at computer specs, i could not buy it for the PC. (I don't feel the need to update mine yet.)So it was the GAMECUBE option.

At first glance this game seems great but prepare for disappointment. When loading it up, be warned. The game takes up a massive amount of memory and you'll need at least a memory card 251 if you want to play this. When playing the game, you can spend a good 20 minutes fiddling around to get your character as much of a likeness as you want and the graphics are excellent. I certainly enjoyed it for a while. And a neat touch, is you can control your character directly; walking them up to the fridge to get something to eat for example..

Yet, the flaws start to kick in. The controls are fiddly, a lot of the time and you can get frustrtaed when you push sideways on a selection screen and it goes 'up' instead. The options, compared to even the first Sims game, are very limited and cut-down. Perhaps this game is not my type of thing, but i certainly enjoyed it on the computer.

Ultimately, i think this is a poor conversion of the excellent PC game and until there is enough memory and hardware to deal with a full Sims game, the Sims should stay on the PC.

Rating: - Greatest Sim's game ever!!!!
Before buying this copy, I bought the sims bustin out and it was really good. I now have the sim's 2 and this is far better than the sim's bustin out.
The Sim's 2 is a really good game.
These are the best points on the game:
1. Better graphics (The sim's face look much better and beleveable.
2. You can now put the sims to bed or whatever, by just taking them there and not just pressing on the bed.
3. The sim's can get married to either sex.
4. Your stuck to the game for hours.
I think if your a fan of the previous games you will very much enjoy this.
