The premium pack:
We'll take the xbox itself and the wires as done as they're in both packages.
okay this pack has:
A wireless controller- Cumbersome and generally very annoying. Twice as much as a wired controller plus you're paying for batteries and/or a recharger.NOT WORTH IT.
An ethernet cable- Correction: An ethernet cable that is far too long to do anything with unless you happen to have your main phone line in your bedroom. This is a pointless piece of equipment and without a router or a very small house, it is useless and you will be forking out another 20 quid for a decent length cable.NOT WORTH IT.
Xbox live membership- Now this depends on your gaming status and social status as really the point of this is to chat with your mates and have some games with them. If you are one of the few who have at least 5 friends with this console and xbox live membership then good on you. However if like me you only know a couple of people who have it and it would be alot of hassle to get everything connected and buy a wireless bridge/router then this is also NOT WORTH IT.
The hard drive- Ah the hard drive. Well, if you're worried a 64mb card (priced 0.00) wont be big enough for you're game data, then worry ye no longer as quite simply it will be more than enough. If you want to waste time connecting it to you're computer so you can convert movies and put them on it and make playlists for a GAMES console, then go for the hard drive. If you just want to get up and running and dont plan on putting loads of tracks and videos on your xbox then this again is NOT WORTH IT.
The core system:
the extra with this is a wired controller.
basically for £80 cheaper you're saving on bin liners as all of the extra stuff with the other package is unnecessary rubbish that you do not need if you actually want to play games on this thing.
The wired controller is also a massive benefit as you dont have to pay for batteries and unless your gaming room is some grand hall then this is all you need. Wireless controllers are a total waste of money and just another marketing trick used by the producers to get us to spend twice as much for our pads.
Conclusion:
If you're a total plonker who is only really bothered about talking with mates and watching videos on the console then waste an extra £0.00 on the premium package.
If you're a clever little chappy get this one and use your well earned £0.00 to get yourself a 64mb card to get you going and i also suggest dead rising (you can get it for £0.00) and obviously gears of war (£0.00).
Then for the same price as the premium package you've got yourself 2 excellent games while the morons who've wasted on that sit there twiddling their thumbs waiting for pay day to afford a decent couple of games.
By the way its well worth the money. The console is amazing (and i used to be a ps3 fanboy =P).

would i need a HD tv for the console and do you need a memory drive or stick? if someone could reply it would be very helpful. thanks

I firstly decided to get a ps3 as they looked great and all my consoles are sony playstation,ps2,psp. They all pleased me a lot so i then started buying the offical magazine for ps2,ps3,psp. BUT, every single month there was some bad news about the ps3 like not being released til march 2007 and 600 pounds for the best of all the different typesof consoles (eg.20gb,60gb). And then i heard the games are gonna cost around 65 quid!! Then i saw this 200 pounds for a next gen console. Seems pretty cheap. Then i heard GTA 4 IS COMING OUT ON XBOX 360!!! OH MY GOD!

I have played a game on the xbox 360 and want to buy one, but im starting to get confused.should i get a HD cable for it or not?I just want to know if it makes a difference.Do I need a HD ready TV? And if I just get the core xbox,do I need a memory card aswell to save games,or will it just save without one?
I would really appreciate it if someone answered my Questions.

Much mire cheaper than Xbox 360 console with all of its extras...
I reckon that this is by far the best console out today, even exceeding the PS3. This is real good value; £200 pound for a very new games console, with a few extra bits, and the fact that this performs the best out of all game players. I do recommend buying this rather than the Amazon one that has all of the special equipment, but you make your decision.
As I said, the Xbox 360 does have the best graphics of all games consoles. If you look at any games cut scenes, the characters look very much like a living human. Also, to prove the graphics, the 360 can cram in ever so many happenings, like in Dead Rising. The sound is absolutely excellent, proven when it plays CD's, it sounds as good as an Ipod, and when the games sound never goes off or weird. Some problems about the Xbox 360 are that you need a separate DVD player link and a separate online link, another way to spill out you money. Once you do have the DVD link the sound and picture are fantastic. The online play for the Xbox 360 games are the best of all consoles, depending on the game. If it is a good game, online you can play with fluency and clarity.
The 360 has 20GB memory; a vast amount. With this, you could hold memory for about 50 games, so you don't need to worry about memory. Also, speaking about memory, this is superior to a PS2 because you don't need a memory card. The Xbox tends to not take much time loading levels or aspects of games, thanks to its memory. The Xbox 360 is slightly smaller than the bulky original Xbox, which helps when finding somewhere to replace it. Another disc that this console can load is normal Xbox games, which does mean you don't have to spend a tonne of money on new games, which are very expensive for the 360.
The equipment in this package includes: The 360, wired controller and composite TV connection & SCART adaptor. These are the things that you really need to give your Xbox 360 a good start. If you do need/want other parts, buy them separately, but don't buy the other Xbox 360 package because it is far more expensive than this. This is easily worth your money and you won't regret buying this - absolutely outstanding performance.
