- The best console out there!
Being a gamer on a tight budget, and not willing to wait 'til November for a PS3(also because of overpricing and lack of good games) or Nintendo Wii, I decided to opt for an Xbox 360. My first impressions were "Whoa, look at that beautiful console" and "Those graphics look amazing". It was so good to come into a living room and not see a large black toaster smiling at me for a change. As a long-time PS2 fanboy and always thought that PS3 was going to blow the other consoles away, I was immediately switched after playing a demo of some of the games themselves. I then had to get one in, and finally this has become a reality. It is the most amazing console I have ever played. So for all you Sony-lovers out there who say to everybody else, "The PS3 is going to slaughter the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii", have a go and you could be immediately switched. Don't knock it until you've tried it!

I havn't written a review in a long time, relying on others judgement for products such as games and books.
But I felt I should write about why I am going to buy an Xbox360, and not the heavily anticipated Playstation 3 or Nintendo Wii:
Dead Rising
Table Tennis
Grand Theft Auto 4
Resident Evil 5
Tony Hawk's Project 8 [maybe]
These are the games I plan to own for my xbox 360. I never thought I would actually own one, my original plan was to buy a PS3, but then what put me off was the price, no way am I spending hundreds of pounds to play a couple of good games.
Also GTA4 would be released simultaneosly on both PS3 and xbox360.
Then my plan was to buy a Nintendo Wii, I was [as most] sceptical about the new controller, but the games they boasted such as super smash bros and zelda seemed worth it.
But of course, when I learned the new zelda would be released on the gamecube as well [which I own], a nintendo wii doesnt seem worth it.
Then, browsing the internet looking for a good reason to buy a console, I noticed a game... Dead rising.
[the following may not apply to everyone]
I have always loved zombie games/films, and this looked mouth wateringly good. Then on the same website I found out about GTA4 and Resident Evil 5, I started to get excited.
My only regrets are that I will not be able to play Super Smash Bros Brawl or Metal Gear Solid 4.
But for games such as Dead Rising, and cheaper hardware compared to PS3, the xbox360 will be my next gen console.
[In no way am I trying to convince you to buy an xbox360, and in no way am I trying to tell you what games you should buy, this review is merely an opinion]

Got my 360 last thursday with Call of Duty 2, it didnt dissapoint at all, the 360 was perfect, no technical problems, just plugged it in and played for a few hours, the only thing is that the 360 is fairly loud due to the cooling fans in th eback of the machine but its nothing compared to playing it on a HD tv. In rewsponse to another review saying that there are no good games out for the 360, there are, and the thing has not been out for that long, give it time and by the end of this year it will have surpassed all expectations. Plus with the PS3 pricetag over £450 i think its likely to be the biggest next-gen console, p.s cant wait for ChromeHounds

The 360 itself is amazing, especially games like call of duty 2, G.R.A.W, xbox live is better than on original xbox, i advise getting wireless bridge which allows for amaziing spped, (i have not lagged yet), but i would however buy the premier pack as its just so much better, wireless controller-must have, headset comes with it, a must if u have live, the hard drive allows you to play original xbox games.
great console, but you should buy the premier pack over the core, and also wait till the PS3 comes out because there will be a MAJOR price drop

- Waste of money
The new Xbox 360 may boast a very good specification, but, i am afraid to say, the console does not perform as well as the spec says it should. For a start, when playing burnout revenge, the game jutters. This is not a software problem either, as ni have replaced the disc several times and still the problem occurs. Also, the hard disc is a useless feature. Unlike on the old Xbox, the Xbox 360 cannot be chipped to enable games to be run off of the hard drive.
Take my advice, wait for the PS3!
