Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not worth the stupidly high price
I decided to delve into the next-gen (I guess it's the current gen now...) by purchasing an xbox 360 - a second-hand one at that. I also bought one of these sleek (but HUGELY overpriced) adapters to connect wirelessly, as i'm not allowed to have an ethernet cable upstairs. However, to my dismay, the damn thing wouldn't be detected on the 360! Not my wireless network, but the 360. Customer support wasn't that helpful - I spent 30 minutes being told to reconnect it. However, after testing it on my mate's 360, I found it was a fault in the hardware (ironic that the second-hand xbox was working fine and the brand new adapter wasn't). So I exchanged it for another, and it works fine, connects, gets a strong signal and everything. However, next to my xbox is a computer. On this computer, I have a wireless adapter costing £10, which does exactly the same as this £60 wireless adatper. Now, why would something, which performs the same function as another slightly different piece of equipment, cost so much? Because microsoft are ripping you off. However, to its credit, it works flawlessly (assuming you have a working one). Worth it if you can't be bothered to find an alternative (like me) however, if you want to get an alternative, try belkin's wireless gaming adapter.

Once again, it's a quality product,

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Couldn't be simpler
I too will add weight to the other reviews, this item is the easiest wireless device you'll ever set up!

You literlally fit it to the back of the Xbox with a 'click', plug in the USB lead to the port on the back and then under network settings on the dashboard change your connectivity to Wireless. Let your router do the rest.

If your router is RIGHT NEXT to your xbox, stick with the ethernet cable because this gadget for all its marvel is still pretty expensive. However, if like me, you just moved house and found your xbox is now at the opposite end of the room from your phone socket and router - and the cable won't stretch, then this is the way forward. The only reason I give this 4/5 as opposed to 5/5 is the price.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent product but you may have installation problems
Ok, the price gets 1 star. There should be no reason for the price tag. however, as you should expect from Microsoft, it is reliable and works a treat ... once you get it up and running.

Personally, I had a nighmare time of it which nearly killed me yesterday evening installing it but not the fault of the hardware itself but other factors like creating a Windows Live ID and Gamer Tag, which I did not have already.

My bad experience involved getting assistance from 360 Technical Support for a good couple of hours. Firstly, once you connect the adapter you have to put it through an initial network test. There are several separate tests that it goes through. Depending on your network settings you may pass all or fail. Mine failed with MTU settings. This meant i had to increase the MTU data transfer settings for my Netgear Rangemax router.

Once I had overcome that I needed to create a Windows Live ID account. Then a Gamer Tag. Then encountered another problem when it came to entering my Gold Live subscription. For some reason, my location kept being automatically detected as living in the United States. I live in UK. Restarted over a couple of time tweaking Network settings on the console dashboeard but with no success.

This was when I called Tech Support. It's a good thing that support was open until 10:00 pm and the guy was very, very helpful and patient!

To cut a long story short, and after trying several workarounds, he guided me through setting up a free Hotmail email address verifying my location as UK based. We then went back and created a Gamer Tag etc ... and when I got to the part that verified my location it automatically showed as United Kingdom. From there onwards it was simple and everything fell into place.

The adapter works faultlessly (fingers crossed)so the kit itself is reliable but the initial process can possibly confound you.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Where are they??????????
We have purchased because it originally said 'dispatched between 1-2 days' and when we received the confirmation it say's estimated dispatch date 5th March, so you think that's OK, look forward to that as its only a few days away, but of course it does not turn up, then when you look more closely into the order it says delivery date( not dispatch date) 5th March- 18th March, but you can never get hold of anyone to ask where is my order you just have to be satisfied with writing reviews like this. Will it get me my Order NO!!!!!!!! Do they answer your e mails No, Do they call you No. They just write small print to cover themselves so they can take your money and make you wait as long as they like for your orders and you cannot get anywhere if you have a complaint. Perhaps someone would like to call and tell me why that the consumer is always on the wrong end of getting any satisfaction.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome
It took it's time to arrive and i thought it was a little expensive but i had no problem whatsoever connecting to Xbox Live. Threw the router on DMZ mode and plugged the wireless into the Xbox then whatched it go. Pretty much plug and play.

Price - Too much
Convienience - About as good as it gets really.

I'd heard stories about the wireless not connecting well to Live but i didn't have a problem. If you have a good router then there should be no problems.
