Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Xbox 360 Game Yet!
I had never played a an Elder Scrolls game before this game and this is the best console game I have ever played. The story line is Absolutely AMAZING, and the graphics are great and when you look out on some of the landscape views it blows your mind at how real it looks. The only real problem with it is the loading time but that did not bother me too much cause it was such a brilliant game.

This is a definite must buy for the xbox 360 and you must give this game a chance before bad mouthing it after the first hour of playing it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - THE BEST GAME ON 360 SO FAR !!!
A Medieval GTA; May not sound too exciting? May not sound your 'cup-of-tea'? I don't know but what I do know is that when I heard about this game, I 'knew' I wouldn't like it! And then I tried it at a friends' house and found out that this game was the best game on this on 360. Until Elder I just couldn't imagine myself with a sword in my hand instead of a shotgun but this game changed my view completely.

The graphics, although not the best on the 360 are still good, especially for a free-roam. The water and scenery graphics are especially good. The shadows too are impressive. The charachter physics are a slight letdown as when the characters run in a 3rd person view or the horses trot, they look like they are moving in slow-motion. However, that is the only graphical fault I've identified in this game.

The sound is good, with excellent sounds of crackling fire, hustle and bustle of market places, and scenery soundtracks. The theme tune for the game is also excellent.

The storyline is brilliant with good combinations of myth, magic and action. The story starts with you imprisoned in a castle cell when the castle is infiltrated by assassins intent on killing the King of Cyrodiil. He tries to escape through a secret passage in your cell that leads into the sewers but the assassins catch up with him and kill him but just before he dies, he reveals that he has a lost son and that his amulet(The Amulet of Kings) must be taken to him so that the gate to an evil and cruel realm can be closed. You then escape and the story branches from there.

Gameplay: After you escape, you can leave the main storyline for a while and undertake other quests. You can join the Mages', Fighters', Thieves' and Murderers' guilds and complete awesome missions for them.
You can fully customise your character with armour jewellery etc and change the race and looks of your character.
You can improve your different skills such as fighting, magic, speed etc by just doing them or by paying people to teach you them.
Also, strewn over the map are sites to explore such as huge caves, castles, and deserted houses.
You can play in a 3rd person or 1st person view, you can ride horses and literally explore every inch of the map which is huge.

Just give this game a try. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
Definitely the best game on 360.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Utterly incredulous...
I am speechless. I recieved this game through Amazon about 3 days ago. Since then i have been struggling to retain my social life! This game is just awe-inspiringly, jaw-droppingly amazing. In my opinion, this is the only RPG released which can even attempt to steal the title of "Worlds greatest Role-Playing game" from the almighty Knights of the Old Republic 1.

The visuals in the game are just astounding. The graphics are brilliant for a game which has a total available area to explore of 16 x 16 miles. If your not quite sure what this game is all about, think of it as a cross between Lord of the Rings and Grand Theft Auto. But a lot more complicated and with a much larger emphasis on magical abilities.

Put simply, you are a former prisoner who has been entrusted with a task by the Emperor. That task is to "...close shut the jaws of Oblivion", which is a demonic dimension. The problem is your new enemy has found a way of creating gateways from this hellish dimension to yours and are unleashing hell upon the many cities and towns within Cyrodiil, the capital province of Tamriel (the world in which this whole kerfuffle takes place).

That's all i'm going to say so that i don't spoil any part of the plot, but this game will take over a 100 hours in order to achieve 100% completion of the game if not 200 hours.

With so many side quests, places to explore and factions to enter, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be remembered for many, many years to come.

Do you like freedom? Do you like Fantasy? And do you like a gripping plot?

Oh, you do? Well then, in that case, why are you reading this review and not busy buying this truly magnificent piece of gaming genius?

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Oblivion
Fantastic - i don't generally like 1st person walk about games i'm a platform girl easier to control, but from the start this game got me hooked some bits are a bit dark but when you get the hang of actually letting the character sleep at night so you move around in the day the scenery is much better.

i switched it on and played for 5 hours straight before i realised.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - turgid
Really slow loading speeds when you save and restart. This is the first RPG game that I've tried and I guess it'll probably be the last if this is the zenith of that genre. On the plus side there is a vast world to explore but the interaction with other characters is banal while the 'fighting' is just plain rubbish.
