i was a bit dubious in buying this product with a couple of negative reveiws written, but i went ahead and to be honest it is perfect all you have to do is put in your ipod, plug it into your cigerette lighter turn it on tune it in and press play perfect, but don't forget it will only sound as good as your car stereo. i would reccomend this product for any one who travels a lot as you put your ipod on shuffle and leave it alone

My car has a 6 CD autochanger, but it is in the boot and I tend to leave the same old CDs in it. Originally I had one of the cassette adaptors for the iPod Mini but that just died after a few weeks and the quality wasn't up to much anyway.
Rather than waste the iPod, I got the 4031. It was up and running at once, and the extension bits enable it to be taken clear of the handbrake.
I'm just buying another one for a friend, and I rate this device very highly.
There's just one place I have found - a long hill on the A3/A31 junction at Guildford for about a mile - where a radio frequency blots out the 4031, then it comes back in again. You just need to remember to switch RDS back on after having used it, or the radio performance suffers!
It is well worth the money, in my opinion. I never use the iPod through the earpiece, always through some other device such as this, or in my study throught the Logic-3 speakers.

Having asked for this as a present, I was a tad sceptical after reading some the reviews on here but there was no need for concern - it's a great piece of kit. Using the instructions, I got it up and running (in a Ford Focus) in under 5 minutes no problem and was away. Very easy to set up and childs play to use. Obviously not cd quality sound but it is using radio transmissions after all and it's still very clear, I didn't experience any interference even driving in London and the south east. Can't see me playing cds in my car again anytime soon!

Better off with a cassette adaptor if your car has one. The only reason I purchased, because my car doesn't have one. The Griffin is completely drowned out by the faintest hint of a singal on any frequency. It sounds fluffy and crackly always, needs constant re-tuning, and never produces a good sound from an i-Pod paired with a good car stereo. It has been an irratation to own, and is so poor that I rarely use my iPod in my car. Very disappointed to not be able to enjoy iPod in-car.

I'm using this in a Toyota Corolla Verso, and couldn't be happier.
The Verso's lighter is quite high up, so this mounts very conveniently next to the indicator switch, between the steering wheel and the radio. Consider how it will work in your car; if your lighter is low down, or behind your gearstick, this may not be the solution for you.
Radio reception is much better than with my old itrip; even in the South East with a very crowded dial, I haven't had problems - and the single is strong enough to cancel out weak stations. If you do get interference, changing wavelength is simple.
Repeatedly taking my 4th Gen iPod out of the roadtrip has scratched the back of my ipod - not a big deal with a 2 year old ipod. And if your ipod is new - get used to it. It will scratch sooner or later.
