I bought the Sennheiser HD435 after my PMX-100's broke. I loved the PMX-100 and was very tempted to buy another pair for only £20, but decided, since i only really use my headphones in the car, about 1 hour a day, i might as well buy a more robust pair, sacrificing the ability to store them in my pocket.
I was glad i did, the HD435s are an amazing pair of headphones, the bass is easily as good as my dad's HD595 (£80-100) headphones. The general sound outperforms the PMX-100s by quite a bit and when you have these headphones on, you can hardly hear anything else.

After the loss of my stock Sony headphone, I bought this open-backed Sennheiser HD-435 model. It features a detachable in-line volume control cable. Cosmetically, I like the clever red/orange inlay around the ear cups.
This model shows good sensitivity. The sound is quite warm overall, but still nicely punchy. I like the bass performance and the clarity in the highs. My only minor quibble: I find the mid-range slightly recessed. Overall, I find this well-priced model to be a solid-performing headphone for my portable player (a Sony NWZA818.). It bet this model will definitely please bass-loving listeners.
The HD-435 has comfortable supra-aural, mid-sized ear cups. They are foam-padded and covered in a soft fabric that is comfortable on the ears. The headband fit is adjustable via a basic sliding headband mechanism that is simple to use. It is also well padded.
Like all good quality headphones, the HD-435 headphone cable is terminated to a gold-plated 1/8" [3.5mm] mini-plug, but a large-size 1/4" adapter is also included, which makes it easy to use it at home (although I only play it with the Sony as I use the much more expensive HD-600 on my main rig.) The box also includes a nice padded travel/carry-bag.
