Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Game of the Year
This is probably one of the best games this year. The stunning graphics and gameplay will keep you glued to the screen. Interesting new vehicles powerful new weapons, this game has it all. Action packed with aliens from start to finish, a great buy.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Halo3 by far the best game EVER!
Muti-player has lived up to halo2, new medals and titles make it more fun!
Single player is great fun, the new scoring sytem is well thought of. online co-op is great up 2 4 players! graphics are intence on any tv, overall best game of its time. 5 stars

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - What a shame.
The much over-hyped Halo 3 feels like a step backwards to me. The multiplayer is as fun as ever, but the campaign is formulaic and simple. What a waste, what a shame.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Ace multiplayer, short-lived campaign
Halo 3 is a hugely enjoyable game.
However if you do not intend to play games online, try Half Life 2 instead - there is so much more to the HL2 single-player game.
Halo 3 really comes into its own in the online multiplayer mode, offering a wealth of game modes, and being as popular as it is, you won't have much difficulty finding people to play against online. I don't have a very fast internet connection but I've had no issues like i've had with other games, in terms of frame rate or getting connected to other games.
The single player game offers few surprises and as with Halo 2, it's mostly just a case of getting from A to B and killing fodder inbetween. Played on a higher difficulty, it does offer a decent challenge, and there is plenty of scope for being clever with your weapons and the environment. Vehicle sections are actually pretty enjoyable, but i feel that the campaign mode doesn't quite offer enough variety - you're given all these items to use such as shields, etc, but even on the harder difficulties, you'll basically just be walking round killing the same enemies with the same weapon.
I couldn't really give a crap about the story and ending and all this "finish the fight" garbage, but casual and hardcore gamers alike will enjoy playing through this while it lasts.

IN SUMMARY, THERE ARE BETTER FIRST-PERSON SHOOTERS OUT THERE, BUT FOR ME, THE HALO 3 MULTIPLAYER IS AS GOOD AS GAMING GETS.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Best Game Ever? Not Quite
I have been looking forward to Halo 3 and got very caught up in all the hype around the launch. When i finally got it home i was very impressed by the graphics and overall feel of the game.
This quickly evaporated once i'd completely the campaign 7 hours after buying the game. The main problem with the single player game is the set pieces or lack of them. The two previous outings have given xbox gamers brilliant pure adrenalin set pieces such as the jumping on the scarab in Halo 2 or arriving on Halo the first time in Halo.
It just doesn't feel like Bungie could think of anything new to excite us gamers. The new weapons are well balanced and the satisfaction of destroying a wraith with a spartan laser is quite awesome.
However this game won't be remembered for the single player because the multiplayer is in a word AWESOME. The new maps are all well designed and balanced enough for new and experienced players. The ranking system and matchmaking also brings a brilliant balance to every game.
Theatre is brilliant for diagnosing your faults and i have no idea how Bungie managed this full navigation of the whole map whilst 16 players run around killing each other is simply awesome.
Forge is a good idea but cant be used well without a friends list as long as your arm, editing a map on your own is quite boring!
Brilliant multiplayer, not quite brilliant single player but definetely worth the price tag. Go BUY IT
