Video Games : Halo 3 (Xbox 360)

Rating: - A Must Have
Quite simply if you have the XBox 360 this is the game you must have. Playing online is so much fun and so satisfying. You can play in various types of games with different types of weapons plus play in story mode yourself if you want to.

This is just a classic game and is essential part of the XBox 360 library of games.

Should you buy it? Yes.

If this was a stand-alone game I think I would have given it 5 stars, but it didn't live up to the other Halo games. I think this is the weakest of the trilogy largely due to the levels, which I don't think are as good as the other two.

people are so dissapointed because its the end of the series, or is it?

a). master chief doesnt die in halo 3, he just goes into a cyrotube, his last words were "wake me when you need me" dont skip the credits, wait till the end of the credits, then the scene will come.

b). halo is a great series so bungie wont end it, they'll lose millions of dollars.

c). people arent staying positive, just stay positive, bungie will definetely make halo 4.

d). halo wars is coming out soon so it might not be the end of the fight.

Rating: - Utter Rubbish
I didn't want to give this game 1 star. That was the lowest option it would reach to. Microsoft have not done anything different with any of the halo games which other games havent covered before. This game takes very little skill to play and it isn't interesting and totally unrealistic. This was generally a very overated first person shooter. The storyline is badly written and boring and impossible to get into, the gameplay was below average and the multiplayer dull. For the best experience in gaming play on Call of Duty 4. By far the best first person shooter out at the moment.

Rating: - not brilliant but not rubbish either
Okay, brief history lesson: Halo 1 was a breath of fresh air when it was released and a lot of games have taken its ideas as gospel since then. However some of the level design, particularly at the end, was utter rubbish.

Halo2: not the second coming by any means, whereas the original had big environments this had boring corridors and dull setpieces. Anyone who says this is as good as the original is lying - as is anyone who claims the first game was perfect to begin with.

So now Halo 3: First off storywise this was never strong enough to justify three games, the story is weak and handled in a laughable manner when compared to Bioshock or Halflife 2. Its merely something to pad out setpieces over 12 hours of gameplay.
The level design is much better than Halo 2 without ever totally recapturing what made the first game so impressive, there are a couple of great bits - fighting a massive tank towards the end rates quite highly but by and large theres nothing absolutely stunning to rave over.

Once again, as with the other two games, it all gets really poor towards the end with some truly terrible design - say hello to the Flood, get bored by the Flood, now fight with the Flood and then get betrayed by the Flood (not to mention being unable to understand how this ties into the story). Whoop de doo, not to mention riding a Warthog over a collapsing roof that takes so much trial and error it isnt any fun. Then you get a short ending which is so badly done that some people aren't even sure how the game finishes - Master Chief dies! Or does he? its hard to tell because the story and cutscenes in this game are rubbish!

This game was better than I thought it would be (I think every Halo is overrated) but not as good as all the screaming Halo fanboys and girls say it is. Try the Orange Box to see how story and action should be handled, play Halo 3 to amuse yourself for ten hours and then get depressed for the final boring two hours that have to be trudged through at the end.
