Electronics : SanDisk Sansa e260 - 4Gb MP3 & Video Player

This player beats the iPod in pretty much every aspect i can think of, Price for one is a biggie, it's a fraction of the cost of an iPod nano and apple have only just included video support on the new Nanos. Memory is another great feature, the Nanos feature set flash memory in whatever capacity you buy it in, the Sansa E260 (and all of the E2xx range) can be expanded with a MicroSD card, that could anything from an extra 512mb to another 4GB or so memory! My last favourite feature has got to be the weighted aluminium on the back though, if you hold the player in your hand and it drops out of your fingers, from the standard viewing angle at least, the player will fall on it's aluminium back so it doesn't damage the screen. And apparently the aluminium is practically indestructable, whereas the iPod touch or iPhone will have a shattered screen if dropped from higher than 33 cm.

A very good little MP3 player. Easy to use good battery life and plenty of room in the memory. Don't believe the bit about taking a 4GB mini SD card it didn't work with the one I bought from SanDisk, but it works well with a 2GB mini SD card.

As far as value for money goes, this is awesome. 4Gb, video, expandable, small! Sound is good. My one downside is that the wheel seems to turn the opposite way to the actual menu display? Also find the menu system a little tricky, although this is probably due to me being male and not reading the instructions!!
Great little buy though especially if you dont want to spend ridiculous amounts on money on an iPod!

This little thing is great. I have an archos 20gb and my girlfriend has an iriver and Ipod and this is as good as both. I purchased as a gift for my mum so it had to be easy to use and it is. It was simple plug and play no need for software (unless you want to copy photos to it). Just drag and drop songs into the music folder and thats it. The screen is so clear and the options are so easy to follow, my mum is 70 and got the hang of it instantly. The sound quality and headphones are superb but you do have to go into settings and configure the sound settings to loud to get max volume, and what a difference it makes... it is louid!!!!

Decided to go for this over an iPod of the same size after reading the reviews and comparing the prices.
I'm only going to use mine for music, no plans for videos and photos, so can only comment on using music. It's so easy to use and syncs well with Windows Media Player. The click-wheel works well and the displays are bright and easy to navigate. I'm planning to replace the headphones as i like mine to have volume control on them, but apart from that i've not got one negative comment about it!
