Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Nintendo DS lite White
My nintendo came yesterday. I was so exited. I charged it and set it up. It only took a few seconds and soon i was playing on MORE BRAIN TRAINING, a very good game.

My friends have nintendo ds lites and love them so i couldent wait to get mine. For christ mas im going to ask for NINTENDOGS DALMATION AND FRIENDS because my friend has the labrodor one and we can trade dogs. Im also going to ask for PAINT a game thats on amozon but has no reveiws. There will be one after christmas though. BY ME.

By the look of the pictures its a game where you can trace, copy or draw your own pictures. It looks great.

Im also asking for THEME PARK because i was going to get ZOO TYCOON but it sounds more boring than THEME PARK and in THEME PARK you can even choose the smallest details. There are also some great reveiws on it.

Anyway back to the nintendo ds lite. Its better than the old one that one of my friends have got. It has a better light, with diffrent settings of brightness and its smaller. It also has a morte comftrable stylus and the microphone is in a better place.

I like the two screens and the way you dont have to fiddle with buttons because you can use the stylus.

My brother says its fun and easy to use comeared to other cgames consoles. He likes MORE BRAIN TRAINING lots along with NINTENDOGS.

My dad agrrees its fun and loves to check his brain age and do other things.

My mum just likes it and says the stylus is a great idea.

Pictochat is fun. You can talk to your friends or draw pictures to look at yourself.

I also like the display screen where you can see the time and date. Also you can select weater you want to go onto a nintendo ds game, go on pictochat, change your settings or play a gameboy advance game.

I had a Gameboy advance SP and i find the nintendo a lot ewasier and being able to put in gameboy games is usefull. The nintendo is way better than the gameboy and you can even buy skins for your nintendo to make it look better.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The perfect handheld for any type of gamer

The DS Lite is the newer of the two DS models that have come out since it's first release in March 2005 (in the UK). This new Lite model is lighter in weight (hence the name), smaller, has better screen quality featuring different light settings and more colour, the buttons are more rounded making it friendlier on the thumbs and the stylus is a lot bigger and easier to hold. Closing the DS's "clam-shell" will also put the game into sleep mode, allowing you to pause the game for long periods of time, which is perfect for short plays. The battery is another big improvement on the DS Lite, giving up to 15 hours of gameplay in one charge, depending on the brightness setting.

The games are the thing that makes the DS a lot better than other handheld systems, mainly due to it's unique touch-screen controls on most games, giving you a much more innovative gaming experience when playing even the most basic games.

The only problem with the DS is it's graphics. When in 3D, the visuals can be quite poor (with the exception of Super Mario 64 DS and Mario Kart DS) especially when compared to it's main rival, the more powerful Sony PSP. In 2D though the graphics are usually top-notch, displaying many colours and sharp animation.

There's also so many varieties of game genres available on the DS, like platformers (Mario 64, Sonic Rush), racing (Mario Kart, Diddy Kong Racing), strategy (Advance Wars Dual Strike, Age of Empires), puzzle (Zoo Keeper, Tetris DS), adventure (Resident Evil Deadly Silence), shooters (Metroid Prime Hunters), mind tests (Brain Training, Big Brain Academy), role-playing (Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Final Fantasy III), detective/courtroom adventures (Phoenix Wright, Hotel Dusk Room 215) even pet sims (Nintendogs, Sims 2 Pets) and dance games (Elite Beat Agents). Unfortunately there is a lack of any fighting games on the DS.

Overall the DS (and DS Lite) is great fun to play with a huge variety of games and can also play Gameboy Advance games, which offers hundreds of more titles. There seems to be something for everyone on the DS, with lots of innovative ideas and some of the most original games available on any console.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - GOOD FUN HANDHELD CONSOLE
A good console but unforchantly let down by high cost games and poor graphics. it is quite a fun console yet if i were u i would get a psp.
why the hell would you spend 30 quid on a 2d cartoon game when you can get the pc or ps2 verion in 3d high quality graphics for 40 percent cheaper. i mean a ds lite and 15 games would be around about 550 quid what a rip off.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - DS beats PSP anyday!
I purchased an original DS when they were released back in March 2005. However I sold it to my sister when the PSP was released the following December.
I kept the PSP for a year and two months, in which I had only bought two games and I never played it. Then my friend got a DS Lite and I knew instantly that I wanted one. I traded my PSP in and bought a new DS Lite. Now my sister and I can play against each other. In general the DS is cheaper to run, not only because the actual console is cheaper but the games and accessories also tend to be cheaper. The DS has some brilliant games too, my favourites are: Sim City DS, Brain Training, Mario Kart, Super Mario 64 DS and my sister loves Nintendogs!
If you are a really serious gamer, I would recommend you get a PSP, but if you are more relaxed about gaming, then the DS is the way to go!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - X-factor
Whatever it is, Nintendo has it. Having gamely struggled to love a PSP for 18 months I switched over to the DS Lite and have found gaming heaven.

On paper there should be nothing in it, the PSP does everything, and has better sound & graphics, a bigger screen, an in-built browser, video & picture viewing.

But with the exceptions of Lumines & Loco Roco I found the games to be basic ports of PS2 games, and thats not what portable gaming should be about. Yes GTA is impressive, but its better on a big screen and the controls work better on a gamepad. Each game I played on the PSP felt like that. And as for the controls, well that little analog hub is just useless.

So what makes the DS Lite any better? I think the main thing is that Nintendo know exactly what portable games should be about. Grab Partners in Time, Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros or Animal Crossing and you'll have yourself an object lesson in the design of handheld games. Fun, quick to pick up, clear graphics, replayability in spades.

There is no contest, it's just that, strangely, the more feature-filled and powerful system is not the winner here. Curiously a similar story is currently unfolding in the TV Console 'wars'.
