- Simplistic, Original Just Great Fun...
The good: The Nintendo DS Lite is slimmer and much sleeker that the original DS. The device employs innovative dual-screen and microphone-enabled gameplay as well as Wi-Fi multiplayer capabilities, allowing for a growing list of original and fun games that you can't play on any other system. In addition, the system is backward-compatible with almost every GBA title. All these additions come without increasing the price or decreasing the features of the original DS. Great Stuff =)
The bad: Playing online games via Wi-Fi can be a hassle. The darker models are just as susceptible to scratches and smudges as the Sony PSP and the iPod, and its multimedia potential remains exclusive to Japan. (at the moment)
The bottom line: With a slick new design, brighter screens, and a growing library of fun and innovative games, the Nintendo DS Lite is an impressive improvement over the original DS. and also at a good price.. well worth the money..
reason i have not awarded the superb ds lite 5 stars is simple, no machine is without it's fault's and as i have rather large hand's controling using the d-pad can sometimes be a awkward, but it's not a major problem and doesnt really effect my gaming .. i highly recommend the ds to parents or b.fs looking to buy his or her children or partner something truly orginal and fun. they will love you all the more for it =)i bought this for the g.f and she hasnt stopped playing it which has given me hours and hours of peace and quite so turned out to be the best purchase i have ever made lol

- Another great handheld from Nintendo!
Firstly this machine feels like it should cost twice as much as it does - Nintendo have really pushed the boat out with two gorgeous backlight screens and stereo speakers that give the games justice. Playing any DS game on it is a pleasure and since it's so light only the daintiest will have problems playing games such as Metroid Hunters which need one hand free for the stylus.
Secondly the DS enjoys some of the most innovative titles out there. I say titles as not all can be called games - I'm talking about Brain Training (proven to improve memory and logic), Electroplankton (a unique 'musical instrument') and Animal Crossing (community based trading) which have bags of replayability and charm!
My only niggle is that if you plan to play GBA games you will find that the cart will stick out of the bottom rather awkwardly which ruins the sleek lines of the unit - luckily the DS has so many good games it's unlikely you'll want to play old GBA games anyway!
To sum up: If you want a classy handheld console with oodles of great games for a small price then buy a DS Lite today - You'll thank yourself for it!

I've bought so many Game Boy products in my life that I wish I could subscribe to a service instead of handing Nintendo my hard earned money every few months.Dont get me wrong i love nintendo, but The amount of product Nintendo has released in its portable gaming life over the years is amazing. Including the DS, there have been ten portable systems released between the first one in 1989 and now if im wrong someone plz correct me as i have been doing my research lol and that's not including special-edition hardware and different colors =/
That works out to Nintendo's releasing a new iteration of their handheld line roughly every 1.7 years. Considering the life of a console at its shortest is four or five years you can see how much of a cash cow portable gaming is for Nintendo. Across all those systems there has really only been a few core updates, from the first Game Boy to the color, then the Advance, then the DS. Those three changes happened across ten systems. Amazing, isn't it? And we keep buying. because we cant get enough of nintendo can we lol
Now that i have had my moan, i will point out the good in nintendo, although i feel somewhat hard done by, with the first release of the ds then the release of the ds lite i will just say what a great little console it is, it basically has everything the original ds has but more, much brighter screen's great sound, it's just a sexy little beast. if you are looking for a small compact console that delivers pure fun then the ds lite is for you.. and to those who are new to the world of nintendo i recommend getting super mario bros with the console.. hours of fun :)i just hope nintendo dont bring out a superduperdsnitrolite in the next month or so i made that up by the way but u all know what i mean lol

I originally bought the Nintendogs package for my girlfriend. She wanted a dog but i'm allergic to them so it seemed like the perfect present. I had a go myself and was that impressed that I HAD to get one, so i bought the DS lite. It's a hell of a lot better than the original and feels more solidly built. Unfortunately my first DS had dead pixels on the top screen and the replacement I have just picked up also has the same problem. I am told Nintendo are swapping them and I had no hassle in swapping mine so it may be that it was just a faulty batch.
Rating: - WICKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is amazing. When i first saw the DS lite it was love at first sight. I am a huge fan of the Playstation 2 console and it has dragged me away from my ps2. When i first saw the brightness of the two screens i was almost blinded. The beauty of the console itself is amazing. It it much better than the original DS in many ways 1: Lighter, 2: Brighter 3: Smaller. It may be pricy but if you dont have one get 1 NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
